Before the Dawn

Personality: 

Xian Yi keeps a distant to everyone, not because he's scared of people rather he has no interest in getting attached to someone, even his father and his stepmother, they can't never be close to him. After the day his own mother passed away, everything messed up, why so? From having a drunken father who can’t support him to marrying a new woman that led to kicking him out of their house a few months later after they got married  because according to his father he was a useless person who can’t work because of his disability. At that point, he knew, he cannot trust anyone else besides his friends who were willing to help him and let Xian Yi lived at their apartment. Even though he is lacking, he begged his friends to find him a job because he does not like depending onto others. And now he works as a cashier at the bookstore of Luhan’s uncle. He was able to live like normal again with his artificial arms and legs that his friends gave to him as a gift.

Even though, he has an isssue in trusting others, he has a few friends, who he known before his life turned up side down. They are his true family. They are the only ones who can witness a different Xian Yi, a cheerful and care-free one. They gave him the title 'big bro' because of his ability to take care of them like a father. Xian Yi isn't always serious all the time, in fact, his the most mischievous amongst them and likes to pull pranks but he know his limits and stops fooling around when its not okay anymore. When his friends have problem, Xian Yi would go to them and talk about it and gives them advices or tell them jokes and make funny expressions to lift up their moods. 

His poker face is just a mask, perhaps,a way for him to avoid getting close to someone. That what was his friends thought. Xian Yi would only converse to another person if it was very important or he would just nod his head or shrug his shoulders.

Persona: quiet machine

Background: On that one night, the walk to home from school, everything has changed for Xian Yi. Xian Yi was walking down casually on a side walk in that quiet street. He was busy thinking on how to escape from the dungeon, the house he shares with his abusive father that does nothing to beat him every night just to get some penny from his son to spend it from beers and cigarettes. Suddenly, he heard someone called out his name. He turned around and saw group of muscular and scary-looking men glaring at him.

They were the loan sharks which his father borrowed a chunk of money from, to pay for the hospital bills of his late mother. Xian Yi remembered their warning to his father that if his father doesn’t give the money back he borrowed from them on the allotted date, they will end his and his son’s life in return. He stumbled backwards. He already knew what they want from him, his life. He took a deep breath and go with his plan to run. He ran as fast as he can, trying to lose them. But they were faster than he expected them to be. He felt someone grabbed his shoulders and roughly turn him around to face them, his eyes watched them as they come closer to him. One of the men attacked Xian Yi with a powerful punch that sent him flying to the ground.

That started the continuous hard punches in his arms and torso along with bats and kicks that are hitting his legs non-stop.  He didn’t stand a chance to fight back and defend himself as he could only wince in vain and close his eyes. His body was still not well from his father’s last night punches and Xian Yi’s body can’t suppress any pain anymore as his physique getting numb from all the attacks. Just a few more beating, he swore his body will tore apart. The loan sharks walked to their van while laughing like mad men after they assured that Xian Yi wouldn’t survive from their fists and heavy feet and left a dying Xian Yi.

 Despite his state, he tried to pick up his phone from his pants’ pocket to call an ambulance with his badly shaking hands. As soon as he heard someone picked up the phone, he told to the other line to rescue him who was in a severe condition and told them the place where he was. He managed to get help.

He woke up (from fainting due to blood loss) once he was already on a bed, at a white room which he assumed to be a hospital room. He sighed in relief. He is still alive and breathing. Yet he felt something was off, he felt lighter. He looked down to found out he has no longer his arms and legs. Xian Yi shook his head, not believing the reality, he screamed. In instance, a doctor came to his room and told him he was lucky to survive from what had happened to him that he still has a chance to live. The middle aged man also explained it was needed to take off his arms and legs in order for his body to survive because his limbs were greatly damaged and wouldn’t be able to work well while the bones on his arms were broken. His doctor suggested he could get artificial arms and legs but Xian Yi didn't have enough money to get one. There were no differences then if he had let himself died out there on the cold street to what his life had become now. He wonders how he could live his life again without his complete body, with arms and legs. Maybe a life of nonsense and pitying himself, he guessed.

With this power, Xian Yi can also control his opponent’s perception of time. He can bridle one’s senses or alertness. The other will speed up furiously to put him/her in an illusion that everything around him/her is moving slowly. On the other hand, he has the ability to make the other human slow down their senses to make everything (look like) at a fast pace so that the person cannot react in time. [source]

Side Affects: When the power is used over time or required too much energy, the person using this power will experience a painful sensation in the chest for a short time yet this will cause to drain his energy, thus, he needs rest to be able to recover fully and to use his power again.

Power Accessory:  The swirling bracelet must be worn whoever wishes to perform the power of controlling time. The bracelet will shine in an amber colour, the thing changes in colour. Amber tells that the bracelet is in good condition and green indicates it is too dangerous to use it as there might be a possible it will malfunction and hurt the user of the bracelet.
