How to get married
So usually a couple will say there vows which is pretty much telling your husband/wife what you promise to do when your married, something along the lines of "I promise to love and cherish you forever more."
Right before this the rings will be given (usually brought in by a ring bearer who is usual a young male relative/family friends ~~ usually around 9-13 years old). They tend to put the rings on each other as they are saying there vows ^^.
After that if there is a priest or other WESTERN religious figure (which there often is) he will give some long winded speech (that is techinacally part of the vows) about cheerishing and what not and during that speech he will ask;
"(males name) Wilt thou have this Woman to thy wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour, and keep her in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?
He respondes with; "I do." (hopefully)
The preist then turns to the female;
"(Females name) Wilt thou have this Man to thy wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, honour, and keep him in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live? "
She repondes with; "I do." (Hopefully)
The Priest then goes on to say to the crowd,"Into this holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined. If any man can show just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter for ever hold his peace. "
Usually thats where all the drama happens lol like a guy stands up and goes "NOOOO I LOVE HER!" or whatever but yea~.
So after a moment or two of silence the priest contnues on to say.
"I pronounce that they are Man and Wife, In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. "
And then thats it. They are married
