Where to begin?

Kim Kibum; you are so amazing in so many ways. You have talent that nobody else has, you have a smile that no one else can mirror and a heart that no one can tame. Your style, your snark, your grace, it all makes you who you are. You are, and will always be, my favourite. No matter what hairstyle, what fashion stage, what values, what relationship status; I’ll support you until your final breath. Forever and forever. No matter what anybody says, no matter what happens, I know you’ll always be strong. Don’t ever give up on yourself, don’t ever change for anybody, don’t ever stop being yourself. Don’t stop smiling. Don’t stop believing, because I’ll believe in you no matter what.

I’ve told this story many times before; but I’m going to tell it again just for you. Before I knew who you were, I was lost, unsure of what I wanted in life. It was one Autumn night; my bestfriend was over for the first sleepover in months. I had vaguely heard of her new obsession; but I didn’t question her on it. When she pulled me to the computer and encouraged me to watch the screen, I thought “here we go again” . . “ Little did I know my life was about to change. The first video Isaw was Ring Ding Dong, and it all hit me at once. I was in love. My friend, being the control freak she is, pointed to each member and told me that they were hers, all except one. I pointed to you; intrigued by your black hair and deep eyes and said “Who is that?”

It was you, all along it was you.

Ever since that day, I’ve been doing things to show my dedication to you; I even hang a key necklace from my neck in remembrance of your strength. But it isn’t about my dedication; it’s about how I feel towards you. And what I feel, it’s everything. It’s idolisation, it’s faith, it’s trust. You, Key, are my everything.

I want you to stop and realise how special you are; and just know that you shouldn’t change for anyone. I know times can become tough for an idol, and it isn’t all about living in the glitz and glamour of being famous. I know that challenges come your way. But, you’re so strong, that those challenges are a mere stone in your path. Your strength is what gives me inspiration every day to be a better me; to work my style and not care what anybody else thinks. You’re my inspiration; my everything. You inspire people every day to be who they are, no matter what skin colour, point of view, fashion sense or gender. I am so proud of you, so proud that words can’t even express it.

Key, you are amazing; you will always be amazing. To me; you are the most amazing thing in the worl. Happy birthday, beautiful boy, you deserve a good one. I hope it’s filled with laughter and presents and love … I hope that someday; when we finally meet, I ca tell you all of this in person. Please don’t stop dreaming, please don’t stop smiling.
