Mainstream Vs Indie/Underground

Ok going to give a warning before I start, I don't know if what I'm going to rant about is going to offend anyone or not, so sorry to anyone it does before hand.

The rant will staaaaarrrrtttttt...... now

EDIT: Sorry for mistakes, it's 3am and I haven't slept very well for the past week

Alright, so I was randomly going through comments on a website about Infinite and people were talking about Wollims CEO.  They went on to talk about how Epik High was kicked/left Wollim, some said that Tablo left because he didn't feel like they gave him enough attention/support {Different people said different things} and since I wasn't to deep into Kpop, or even into Kpop when this all happened. I went off to google to look more into the topic and I just came across random sites with people arguing about whether Tablo and Epik High had lost their creditbility joining YG, aka one of the top three, when it comes to 'idol' groups. I know I don't know much about indie music and it's obvious by my wall or blogs or stories I'm into idol groups and so in some peoples opinion I'm blinded as to what is wrong with main stream/idol groups. This isn't the first time I've come across certain artist losing credibility because their mainstream, because I came across this a while ago, regarding Zico. I mean I can understand the disappointment people would have if the person they look up go against everything they had believed or join in something that they've always been against, but a lot of indie fans {I don't mean offese just my opinion} or at least the ones that I've come across rant about how, Epik High are sell outs and stuff like this. I don't get how their sell outs {I barely believe in the word sell out in the first place}, I mean come one, their getting older for one. They have families they need to take care of, when you get older there are times when your ideals change, when you get older you mature and you look at things at a different level then you did before. Look at everyone in Epik Highs age and to add to the fact that they also have families that they want to protect and take care of, plus add the factor of what Tablo has been through with people questioning whether he had really attended stanford {Though I don't get how anyone can do that, esp. after talks} that kind of thing isn't something that just goes away, it stays with you and I'm sure that he might have nightmares about the whole thing because I know. Maybe I'm being silly or just reading too much into this but I thought music was made to enjoy, whether it was mainstream or Indie. I know I listen to music because I love no matter what kind of music it is, whether it's mainstream, or indie. Whether it's pop, rock, hip hop, or just random, it seems to me because of the fact normally people that like different kinds of music have different opinion  and because some people seem to believe or can only get along with people that share the same opinion but for me I love/like when I find someone who sees things differently from me because then I know I can have a good conversation that I'm sure I won't be bored of.

My opinion on the Tablo\Wollim thing, I don't know what to think since I don't have the whole story. All I know is that I'm sure it would be hard for Wollim to have backed Tablo up since they're not a very big company, to those who know about this and are saying that I'm defending Wollim blindedly without thinking about Tablos point in this. That's not true, I know that despite the fact that they're not the biggest company they should still protect the artist but what I'm trying to say it's whether Wollim was right or wrong about kicking/letting Epik High out/go, I don't think anyone will ever really know because none of us were in their place nor know their choice.

The Zice thing, I don't even want to talk about because I find it stupid because they say he isn't an artist because he's mainstream now, I didn't know that only people underground or indie were counted as artist because for me an artist means someone that is artistic, whether its underground/indie or mainstream. Whether it's Painting, acting, or music.

Question to anyone that actually read all this, what makes a person a(n) artist?
