Personality

 

In general: Kim Minyoung is full of aygeo. She's shy at first but bubbly and sometimes hyper as you become closer towards her. She doesn't like to reveal her anger infront of others so if someone bothers, disturbs or annoys her she keeps it in till she can't it anymore and releases all her anger in one go. So any grudges she held in the past she will relase it, but she forgets everthing overnight. When she's nervous she can't help but to move around alot (almost like a monkey) and tends to be forgetful and blank. Minyoung is very clumsy but very well organised, she doesn't like to keep people waiting as she is impatient her self, so almost always she is on time.

Background History

Minyoung was born in Australia and lived there for 10 years till she moved to Korea for better education. Her father however stayed in Australia because of his work. Minyoung's parents are divorced due to arguing on weather or not she should become an idol. Her father was against it and as much as Minyoung loves and cares for him she still wanted to become a singer. She decided to move to Korea to learn Korean and to get better education, this is where she has realised her mother, Lee Yumi, works at a hospital. Minyoung then grew close with her mother and her relationship with her father grew distant. She still calls him once in a while, but that was it.

It's been 6 years sicne Minyoung moved to Korea and her Korean is improving alot. She goes to the same school as B.A.P's Zelo, bumping into him every once in a while. Minyoung and Zelo became very close after hearing the similarites they both have.

Minyoung was a girl that's easy to approach. She had her first boyfriend, Park Jisun, at the age of 15. She loved him alot, but was hurt badly when caught him cheating on her. That person was SNSD's Jessica, and she hated her ever since. Because of this event Minyoung became more quiet and shy around people she didn't know, and when any guy approached her she just gave him a cold glare or speech. She's only open to the ones she trusts and is close to like her sister Kim Taeyeon, her mother and Zelo.

Trainee Life

How did you get into SM? (I think you mean Cube right? OuO)

Minyoung participated in local talent shows as well as her school yearly talent show. She has won first place 5 times in a row for both local and school talent show, which drew attention to her. SM's CEO was walking by at a local talent show when he heard Minyoung sing, he waited for her to finish before talking about recruiting her as a trainee.

How was your trainee life? Her sister, Kim Taeyeon, helped her with her vocal when she heard her little sister was recruited. Minyoung had some difficulties at first with what Taeyeon was saying and teaching but after a while she got the hang of it and was able to sing long and high notes. Although Minyoung could sing she wasn't really skilled at dancing so Taeyeon asked both SHINee's Taemin and SNSD's Hyoyeon to give Minyoung some dance lessons. Minyoung then grew quite close to both of them.
