Harnessing Creativity

Not sure about you, but when it comes to writing, my creative streak is quite fickle.

I have a tendency to have "creative moments" and if I let them pass, then, well, that's it until the next one...Since I've been writing (since I was about 10 years old or so) it's been a struggle for me to try and learn how to harness and utilize my of genius, along with my random, unusually long and unnecessary dry spells in which I wouldn't be able to write a decent paragraph.

And lets not talk about how bad my ADD contributes to this, okay. LOL

I do try to make use of those times when I feel creative. Like tonight. I've started and added 2 separate chapters to a fic I've had brewing in my head for a while.

Perhaps it's a matter of enjoyment? Sometimes I feel like if I am not enjoying the process of writing, that my readers wouldn't enjoy reaading it? Or maybe I'm just too critical of myself and I've set the standard uselessly high for myself and I only have scarce moments when I approve of something I've put on paper.

Either way, I want to use this to become better at writing so that I'll enjoy doing it, and you'll enjoy reading it.

Because, after all, if there's no happiness to be found in it, then, it might as well be homework, house chores, or something else unpleasant that most people procrastinate with.

LMAO.
