Sigh.

I lack motivation to write stories when I don't have sufficient "feels" or knowledge about whichever idol I choose as the protagonist.

I began working on World of Crimson during the summer of 2012. My family took a very long road trip to the Grand Canyon, and that's where I got the inspiration to start the story. It took me until November to fully plan out the plot and characters (school made me busy), and when I posted it on AFF, I thought that it would be one of those stories that I would be determined to finish with a strong denouement. However, seeing that EXO hadn't made a comeback in over a year and they barely appeared on shows, my feels for the main character, Kai, began to die down.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan, but without enough information on what the members' personalities are like, I feel like the story won't be as good as I thought it would be when I was in the process brainstorming the first few chapters. Most authors, I think, base the personalities of the EXO members according to their "powers". That's clever, I guess, but I believe that knowing them as true individuals (this does not include gifs, pictures, and fancams of OTPs) will make me more willing to continue writing the story in much more depth.

I'm aware that the characters of the idols we see on reality shows, like Sesame Player, Ranking King, MTV Diary, etc., may not be truly real, but it's better than portraying Kai as a chauvinistic playboy because the author watched him his hips into the air during a performance.
