Day 1 - First Impressions of Best Absolute Perfect

Day 1 – First Impressions of Best Absolute Perfect

When I watched the ‘Warrior’ MV there were a few thoughts running through my head. These were – in order of me thinking them:

1.       Blonde overload! They were lucky they were all able to pull off the blonde hair. The only problem with it was I couldn’t tell them apart. It was so confusing and annoying.

2.      A male group without aegyo! I hate crappy aegyo. I can’t watch boyfriend’s earlier MV’s because I cringe like I’m having a fit – and don’t get me started on Big Star’s ‘I Got a Feeling’. At least with Boyfriend I could watch the whole video.

3.      There was more rap than singing – with most other groups, the rap can be random and awkward, but with BAP I was all ‘This rap is da ’. Also, both rappers were bloody good.

4.      The two blonde one’s vocals! The two vocalists have great voices. Daehyun’s notes at the end of the song are incredible.

5.      THE CHOREO WAS AMAZING! Their choreography was so impressive. There were some complex moves there that they pulled off.

There were some things I found a little annoying too. It would be strange to like them completely straight away.

What annoyed me the most was definitely the all blonde – I couldn’t work out differences in features of the members because I was so distracted by the overpowering blondness.

The car smashing was a little funny too. There’s nothing like smashing a car with a sledge hammer to show your…manliness…we don’t call that manly here in Australia. We call that ‘public nuisance’, ‘vandalism’ and ‘destruction of property’.

One other funny/annoying thing was *sighs* the acronym. ‘Best Absolute Perfect’…let’s be honest, it’s terrible. I think they came up with the acronym first (BAP) and then needed to find something to fit it.

Once I got their single album and listened to it – I found the other songs on the album were damn good too; particularly ‘Secret Love’.

To cut a long story short – I could go on forever probably – I was impressed, I enjoyed the song, I thought the dance was cool and I thought they were pretty damn good for a rookie group; but I wasn’t enamoured by them plus…

EXO’s ‘What is Love?’ came out not too long after...and I love that song.

And then – before ‘Power’ – along came Busker Busker. BAP were overshadowed by them for me because I simply love all of Busker Busker’s songs.

However, looking back now on the idol group debuts from 2012 – of which there were far too many – BAP’s debut stood out the most.

Well that was a random bunch of thoughts pulled out of my memory. I listened to the 'Warrior' album while I wrote this - it was some great fun. Now, to finish watching more of 'I Miss You' until 12:00am (It's 10:34pm right now) so I can put up Day 2!
