Style: Sungyi's style is often very bubbly when she's infront of fans or anyone that really means something to her. When she doesn't care about anyone's opinions, she is seen in sweatpants and loose shirts. Her style is one that could be worn or found by many other girls, making her relateable to, but she wears her bubbly style like no one else. Her favorite formal wear is long dresses, and anything brightly colored is good by her.

Personality: Sungyi is a multi-personality person. She is presented in layers, which is something she is not very proud of because she has no control over. She comes across as that almost-too-cute girl next door and if someone treats her like that, she will act like that and immediately become more reserved towards that person. As she gets to know someone, she opens up very slightly until she reveals her entire life story to you and then you know you've been accepted into her life as a very close friend. Sungyi tends to be less up-front with people than she would like to be. She doesn't like confrontation or being confronted. She tries to please everyone without making people think she is that cute girl next door.

Sungyi, infront of her fans, is not her true self. Because of her looks and how she is portrayed in the group, she is more "girl next door" then she would like to be, therefore being more reserved at concerts and not having as much fun as she would like to. In variety shows, she speaks a fair amount but never makes fun of her members because she is afraid of what fans think of her. She just wants to be liked and depended on more than anything else, but still wants to be unique and not judged based on her young appearance.

Character Backround: Yu Sungyi grew up at home with her brother, sister, and her dad. Sungyi's mom lives in Bucheon, which means that they don't get to see each other very often. From a young age, Sungyi was always the quiet beauty of her family. Her father would show her off to all of his co-workers and friends. Jinyi, Sungyi's older sister, got Sungyi into modeling when she was a toddler. Jinyi took Sungyi to all sorts of auditions until they found her a perfect modeling job. Sungyi modeled until she discovered that her true passion was singing. It was in her fathers' room, when she was covering a K-pop song and posting it on the internet, when her singing career began.

Sungyi wasn't really internet famous, but she started posting more and more covers until she got comfortable telling her father and brother that she wanted to be a singer. Her brother has never supported her as much as she would have liked, but her dad was completely on board with the idea of her auditioning for SM Entertainment. She originally didn't make it, but with lessons from her sister in being a better dancer, she auditioned again and then made it. Sungyi loves her family more than anything, and tends to even blow off her friends to hang out with her sister and brother.
