Since I have created Slave and it's angst sister story Betrayal, a lot of readers have asked me about the time period and stuff. Today, I have resolved your questions and made it a part of both forewords. I hope this helps. Background Story to Slave and Betrayal:

This story is set in the distant future. Civilization as we know it today has ceased to exist and in its place stands a cruel world that starkly resembles the Medieval Times. The people of this time period are separated into three distinct groups: the Masters, slaves, and the freed people. Long gone are things such as civil liberties and other laws meant to make people equal, as there is no equality among the differing groups. Masters dominate their slaves and use them to every extent while the freed people stand on the side lines, always turning a blind eye to the cries of their once brothers.
