Choi Jungin

About You

BACKGROUND

THE PAST Jungin was born to pair of normal, 9-5 office workers, who loved her no doubt, but god, how they were some boring old people. She grew up in her grandmothers' home, a five minute walk from her own home, as her parent's were at the office most of the time. She had a nice groups of friends who thought that her grandma was weird, and she was a good student, but not exactly the smartest. She had no special talents whatsoever. Singing? Only if you like hearing the backup singer insated of the singer herself. Dancing? You'd probably end up looking at the person besides her. She wasn't even consistent in her grades, getting a B most of the time. She blended into the background easily, and no one really cared. Well, she herself did as she tried really really hard to be good at something. She would impulsively jump to another new thing she would try to be good at, but she failed eventually... (Well, she was good at eating. Really good at eating. But even that, most people looked down on her and commented that she would end up 'ganing a lot of weight') Somehow she was always optimistic, and tried to not think negative. Her parent's were laid back (and like mentioned before, boring) so they didn't push their daughter to strive in anything. 'Do whatever you want, honey, we're okay with it' was what they would say to her (they tried being 'cool parents') and she'd simply nod her head. She's heard that line one too many times. After passing high school with some mediocre grades, she still continued on with her mission to be good at something, being still financially supported by her parents.

THE PRESENT Even though it's been awhile since she left high school, she's been living with a couple of her friends in an apartment, (split 1/3, though her parents take care of her part of the rent) and she's not showing any signs of giving up. During the night, she vows that she will find something that she is good at before doing something proper with her life, like going to college or seomthing of those sorts. She considered getting a part-time job, but that would take up to much time in her persuit of finding something she'd be good at; though she's still considering it, because extra money would mean she can buy food for herself.

THE FUTURE Jungin had never helped out with the snack-buying for the girls' saturday movie marathon, and they complained on how many snacks were for Jungin only. So on one fateful saturday afternooon, the girl had to run down to the 7/11 store seven minutes away to buy the snacks for the first time. While she was shopping for her selection of snacks, she noticed the 'HELP WANTED' sign in the shop. Immediately, Jungin jumped on the opportunity, thinking it was a way to maybe find her true calling (and get some money). She didn't take much time to decide on whether it was a good idea or not, and filled in the form, in hopes of getting a spot in the afternoon shift (convenient work timing). The form instructed her to choose ONE desired position, but she ended up choosing three - cashier, deli worker or assistant manager.

When she hears that the boys want to go on a diet, she's very very reluctant to hop on board, since she loves food a bit too much.

PERSONALITY TRAITS impulsive, perseverant, optimistic, sweet
IN DEPTH PERSONALITY impulsive. "You only have ten seconds to turn it all around" a quote (made by herself) that Jungin practically lives by. The girl tends to do things before thinking them through. As she likes to believe (based on the quote); you only have 10 seconds before a train will splatter you everywhere, you only have 10 seconds to make a decision and make a move for it. With Jungin those 10 seconds are shorter than they seem so she jumps at any offer and opportunity given to her despite the consequence or trouble that might follow. Due to her mission, she constantly picks at every single chance she gets, most ending not-so-greatly. A lot of people are weirded out by her impulsive-ness, often citing that they have never seen anybody that impulsive ever. If she sees a pick-pocket stealing a woman's bag, she won't hesistate to run after him, though she probably won't catch him because she's not much of a runner. Yeah, she has tried running.

perseverant. In her mission to break out of her mediocre-ness (which has become her life), one trait she easily picked up was to be perseverant. After her try at the tenth talent (drawing) when she was eleven years old, she started to slowly lose motivation and give up. But, of course, she didn't want to give up. How was she supposed to find her talent? She persevered and continued on to never give up through her tries. A lot of people are amazed of how she doesn't give up, and she's proud of herself for going through many different talents, (most of which she failed to even get to be mediocre in) and swears to continue to perservere through many more until she finds her true calling. "Yeah, she's a heck of a girl. She never seems to give up."

optimistic. Yes, Jungie is one of those 'the glass is half-full, not half-empty' people. She takes things in positively, so that she finds more drive to continue on. She enjoys going through the talents and whenever she fails, she just simply remarks, "Oh, well. There are still so many more talents to go through". She refuses to sink into negativity and lethargy because she knows it'll get herself nowhere. With a bright attitude and even brighter smile, you probably won't get through her unless it's like... you're life's goal to get Jungin to feel down in the dumps Of course, she gets sad know and then like any other human being, but it's uncommon any way.

sweet. Despite everything, Jungin is a sweet, thoughtful and caring girl. She thinks of herself a lot, but she also thinks of the people behind her also. If she knows that one of her co-workers is sick, she'll make sure to call them and to help them as much as she can. She's one of those people who like to ask 'how are you?' or 'how was your day?' knowing that it would probably help lift the other persons' mood. She's sometimes reluctant to share her food, but eventually, she does, though she would end up buying another one of the same thing she just shared.

COLOR Orange. The colour is bright and cheerful. Not only that, the colour personality behind it, it is the 'gut reaction' colour, to which they use their gut and not a lot of throught to make a decision. It's the colour of optimism and bouncing back, along with recklessness and action without thought.
SMELL Lemon Vanilla Sugar. A complex sounding scent, but that's what is, complex but likeable. Sweet and soft, like vanilla sugar, but energetic and lively like the smell of lemons.

Lu Han

Love Interest

His NAME Lu Han
Occupation Head Advertiser / Afternoon shift

personality traits cheerful, charming, witty, oblivious
character persona Doe-eyed Manga Character
relationship When Jungin first got in the job, she developed a curiosity over Lu Han. Maybe it was his eyes? Who knows? But soon the curiousity turned into longing and she went up to him and the two became easy friends. They tend to joke around and can chat with each other for quite a long time without getting bored with one another. But of course, they're slightly awkward because of being from the opposite . She developed a sub-consious crush over him and whenver they have skin and/or eye contact, Jungin immediately turns red from embarassment. Well, what she doesn't know is that Lu Han too, gets embarassed when their skin touches. She has yet to find out why she blushes so hard when with Luhan while when she's with the other male employee's, she's just fine. She enjoys his presence a lot, and it's obvious Lu Han approaches Jungin in an 'I-like-you-alot' way, which is oblivious to Jungin and only Jungin. He tries hard and hopefully, she'll realize it too.

Love Rival

His Name Choi 'Zelo' Junhong
occupation High school student

relationship That one giant- high school kid who likes to hang around in the 7/11 and constantly buys things to eat so he won't get kicked out because he has nothing better to do than study in a convenience store. Jungin helps him with his work because she can't help but notice how horrible he is in his homework. He's a cutie-pie and Jungie just can't deny that. His shy demeanour, yet charismatic ways of conversing make it enjoyable for Jungin to be around him. He calls her 'Jungie-noona', and she can't help but melt everytime he calls her that. She cares for him a lot and vice versa. He quickly develops a crush for his noona, but is embarassed to admit it, while Jungin too can't help but crush over him a bit without realizing and she dubs it as 'caring'. Zelo can't help but notice how Lu Han approaches his noona and doesn't want his noona stolen from him and (sometimes successfully) pulls her away from the rest of the employees right ater the shift ends.

ending UGH WHY MUST I CHOOSSEEE... LU HAN ><;; sorreh jello bby.

Final Questions

Why should we hire you? Ah! Why should you hire me? Well, firstly, um, I'm very hardworking. Yeah, I am. I don't like to slack off, and I make sure that I finish the job and I look at things optimistically, which helps on a day that has less business than usual. I like helping people and I guess I'm easy to order around because I don't really argue against the person who ordered me to do that task because, well, I don't really think first. I mean, if someone would instuct me sternly to jump off a bridge, I would make my way to the bridge and then only realize how stupid it was for me to follow the order when I'm looking down at the river below the bridge. Well, that wasn't a great trait, but it's a good one for a place like 7/11, right? Having to be instructed to do things by people who are either your boss, your co-workers, or complete strangers daily. I'm well aware of my surroundings and I will try not to nap when I'm bored and I am a patient-ish person and I will treat the customer fairly and politely. I hope I fill your requirements to be a part of the apujeong-deong 7/11 staff.

name 4 idols you'd want as regular customers

Luna of f(x). She's been my friend since elementary school, and we share an apartment along with our other friend, Minah. Luna's the one who does all the grocery shopping, because she can't cook, so Minah and I are the ones who cook most of the time (though I don't really do much other than stir the things in the pot). She buys the apartments' necessities like bread, chocolate, snacks, rameyeon; stuff like that. I often question her choice of chips at times and she has to change it to my preferred flavour in the end because I'm the chip-devourer.

Hyelim of Wonder Girls. A curious young woman who comes in just to buy one thing, each and everytime. Those chewy candies called 'Mentos'. I don't know if she's addicted to them or something, but she offered me one the first time I worked as an employee, so I guess she's nice.

T.O.P of Big Bang. He's an interesting lass who strikes up interesting conversations. Normally, people would come aroundat 12 to 2 pm for their lunch breaks, but he comes around at 4 pm, which is like two hours off. I guess he's not one for those lunch rushes. A bit quiet and brooding, but his presence is really defined no matter if he's talking or not. He likes drag the time with engaging conversations with me or the others before actually eating after like half an hour of talking.

Onew of SHINee. The man who loves chicken. His presence makes me smile and he's really great with people. Though, he's not helping with the afternoon shift's diet. Trying to make us eat chicken when we're on a diet and paying for it? Damn. So tempting, but for the boys, I resist.

what is the first thing you would buy at 7/11 Sour cream and onion potato chips or vanilla ice cream, either one. I always end up getting two bags of chips because I know Luna will never get the sour cream and onion flavour for our every two day grocery shopping because it isn't her favourite (her's is barbeque, but she always ends up throwing them away uneaten because she keeps them in the cupboard too long). Minah and Luna like chocolate more than vanilla, so I have to buy my own vanilla ice cream.
what is your thoughts on the employees of 7/11 Well, I have to start by; how the hell did this 7/11 end up with soo many attractive people? I'm not only pointing out people from the afternoon shift, but also the other shifts. They're all really great, and nice people, but they're a bunch of attractive men who could pass as models or stripers and can easily get gigs, but instead, they're working at 7/11, tucked away in gangnam, where there's also clubs to go to/work at, and they end up in 7/11. Tell me, how is that logical? Well, I guess it does help with the business.
if 7/11 was being robbed, what would you do Hide. Or maybe fight off the robber. You never know, fighting crime might be my hidden forte after all these years for all that anyone knows. Or help my co-workers to get the hell out of there before anyone gets killed. Or sacrifice myself. Maybe it's been my destiny to die famous of a convenience store robbery.

comments/questions/concerns whoah. that took way more longer than i expected it to be. but any ways, here is my bby jungin and i hope you like her. i really enjoyed writing jungin up and with all her 'mediocre-ness', it was really interesting to decipher her point of view of trying to shine after being mediocre for so long.
if you are not going to be chosen would you still read this fic yes, and i'm being honest. even if you didn't make this into an applyfic, and i somehow found my way to this fic, i would've read it because of the really unique plot! ^^
