Help >.

Does anyone want SAT studying tips? :O Any good books to use to study? What's considered a high score? People who have taken it-- do talk to me.

Thanks.

I wish I was still on break >.< gaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I was so tired when I woke up on Monday. I ended up sleeping in class for almost half an hour.

Btw, can someone solve this system of equations:

x^2+y^2-4y=0, x^2+y^2-2x=4

ahahaha I'm doing maths for A-Levels. I thought it was a circle equation first, so you do (x)^2 + (y-2)^2 - 4 = 0, so if you're looking for a co-ordinate, you get (0, 2) as the midpoint? and 2 as the radius because (x)^2 + (y-2)^2 = Square root of 4 (2)... because (x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 = r^2. And the second one... well, it's the same but the radius would be the square root of 8. (so 2root2)... uhhh, well, I don't know. The person below me might be more helpful heheeh~

I solved them! y=-2 or y=-2/5 since its a quadratic equation.. I could show you how if you want..

I thought for SAT you can just study it yourself with the college board book? I didn't bother taking it though. Are you from US?

For the maths question, is it separately or together? As in is it in the same question?

I had a review book for the SAT's, but I used collegeboard and that helped me a lot too. Study a lot of root words and such for vocabulary (because they're sneaky with their word usage sometimes). The math is pretty simple because it only goes up to Algebra II (I think. I took this a year ago lol). I don't know what would be considered a high score, but getting over a 1600 (and having passable grades) can get you into a state college, easy. .____.

I could try to solve the math problem if I would know what you are searching for (in Germany we don't have anything like SAT's so sorry for being able to help out^^^;;;)

what does it mean here to solve? by graphing? XD for x? y? and what grade is this?

i feel like such a nerd when i say this...TT.TT
i took the SAT a year ago...so first of all, if you're not going to take the SAT in the next month or so, then you might as well study the latin and greek roots. they help a lot :D
if you DO have the SAT in the next month...and you haven't studied whatsoever...then shame on you ;P jkjk. I guess the best chance you'll have is to try to memorize vocab.
that's for the vocab part.
for the math part, it's not that hard. if you're in eighth grade, then it should be easy for you, since you've probably went over most of the stuff that's going to be on the SAT.
collegeboard has good study guides, so you can check them out. they have a practice test online, and you can try it out, and they'll grade your stuff :D.
for me, i went to a bunch of stupid SAT classes....idk if they'll help you, it depends on the teacher and the person....
and if you get a 600 or higher for any of the subjects, i would consider that a high score...so if you do the math, that would be about 1800 points. but if you're in 7th grade, most of them get around 1600, so don't feel bad if you get less than 1800 ^.^.
TT.TT I FEEL LIKE SUCH A NERD!!!
oh yeah, for that equation, you could try substitution if you haven't tried it already....it would still take some time to solve it, but that's what I would probably do...there's probably some trick to it, though...TT.TT
yeah... i should stop procrastinating on AFF and start doing my hw now...

O_O I don't get it... I've tried like everything...
What chapter is this question in? Are you trying to find x and y? O_O I'm like stumped

by system of equations, what are you trying to solve?
because I got y=0.5x+1 well, this is for system of linear equations xD are you trying to graph it or just solve and check?

I'm not good with studying so I think I'll just help you with the equations
oh but what are you trying to find? x and y?
