She wears very classy and stylish outfits and just loves having her outfits full of bling. She usually has some kind of variation of long skirt or dress.

personality: 

When she first entered SM in 2006, she was very arrogant, strong-minded, straighforward and short-tempered young girl. She had that kind of personality, that many people tend to dislike. And she definedly had an bad attitude. She haven't never been a 'mean person' though. She has that kindness in her even though she rarely showed it then. She can just be happy nowadays that she didn't talk people that much back then. If she had done that, most of the SM family incuding trainees and staff would probably hate her. She was quite sure she was going to debut soon. She was very confident about her skills expecially her dancing skills. Luckily she soon noticed that there was no way she was going to debut with that attidude. And that made her change it.

After that, because of her long training, she has matured a lot. She has lost her rudeness along the years with her arrogance and has become much more patient. She has developed herself a much more mature and caring character. That still doesn't mean she would have the very good personality, not at all. She's just more capable of taking a leading role and being polite to people. Her long trainee years paid of because at the present day she would be very good leader and she's capable of taking a lot of pressure.

But her long training wasn't only good thing. She can be very unsecure nowadays and she criticises herself a lot. I easily feels like she's not good enough. That her brothers debuted before her is only one of the reasons she doesn't have that good self-confidence anymore. She does have her confident moments and she has become much more cheerful and happy after she joined TS. She also grudge towards SM but that's only natural. During her training in SM she got easily jealous of other girls because of the harsh competition, but after she joined TS she has lost that jealousy because TS has much less trainees and expecially girl trainees.

Her character is very unique and also boyish in some way. She's a good speaker and isn't afraid to tell her thoughs just as they are. She is a very loud person when you get to know her, but nowadays she knows when to shut up too. She has a good sense of humor and she's also quite sarcastic. She has very high morals and with her attitude you can find her easily scolding people who trow trash around or behave badly in some other way.

She's one of those people who make friends very easily, and she also tends to befriends boys easier than girls. To her friends are really important source of strength. She's friendly with many people but has no one to really rely on and share her insecurities with. She has suprisingly many of them. She works really hard to show only her best to other people, expecially to her juniors. She wants to be a mother-like character to younger and also newer trainees.

likes and dislikes: 

She likes: dancing, stuffed toys, music, cats, spicy food, bright colors, milk and doing well in something.

She dislikes: people who have no willpower and who give up easily, failing, dogs, bees, scrimps and traffic.

habits:

- She always dances around instead of walking when she's happy.

- She chews things like pencils and chopstick when she's nervous.

- She always checks that everyone is wearing a seatbelt in car, ALWAYS.

- Swering in different languages, but she doesn't swear often.

trivias:

- One of her greatest idols is BoA.

- She has been back up dancer in various performances many times.

- Believe it or not, she's actually really good in doing aegyo.

- She doesn't want people to know about her brothers. She never tells people about them if unless they ask. And if they do she just says she has two - younger brothers wthout mentioning their profession or their names. Actually only the CEO of TS knows about her brothers.

- She owns over 50 pairs of sneakers and around 30 different kinds of hats. Most of them has been presents.

- She has never dated because training took most of her time when she was younger. 

- She's deathly afraid of bees. High places, dark, snakes, anything else than bees she isn't afraid of them.

- Again, no one knows about her brothers but TS's CEO and couple other people. She doesn't want people to know.

- She has a black kitten called Nox that she got from animal shelter just couple months ago.

- She can play both piano and quitar.

- She has some experience in song writing and she's fairly good at it. She's bit better in writing lyrics.

w h o  a r e  t h e y ?

family background: 

She is the eldest child in the Jo family having two younger brothers, who are the well known being Jo twins of the boygroup Boyfriend. Her dad is director,

but not any very known one and her mother is a hair dresser, who owns her own salon.

Her childhood was fairly normal and she comes from a normal middle class family. She was four when Youngmin and Kwangmin were born. When new kids are born, the older ones usually get less attention than they used to, right? And then the older kids get super jealous and start doing crazy stuff. Well, that's just what happened in Jo family too. There's a lot job with taking care of twins so it's only natural for the little five-year-old Somin to get jealous. And well let's just say that it wasn't a good thing. Not at all. To say it simply, one morning little Somin picked all the stones from their garden and broke and broke all the living room windows. What a nice thing to wake up to. Luckily her parents understood what caused her behavior and didn't scold her too much. She gets very embarressed nowadays if her parents mention her reaction of having little brothers and she tries to avoid talking about it. Her brothers becoming child actors didn't exactly help her to get rid of her jealousy, but she was able to do so after she grew and started to understand thing better. She can be happy that she still became close with her brothers even though she thinks them as her rivals.

She has never done very well in school, good enought, but not very well. She has always had more interest in different things. Only thing she ever liked about school were language and music classes. You could say she has always been bit a rebel.

She moved to dorms in 2008 to focus better on her training. She hasn't contacted her family after that.

They love each other a lot and are really close. He misses her a lot. Kwang Min and So Min loved to prank Young Min and goof around together.  They would probably be bit ackward nowadays.

They love each other a lot and are really close. He misses her a lot.He was the victim of his sibling pranks but usually just went a long.  Loved to hug So Min a lot. They would probably be bit ackward nowadays.

They're really comfortable around each other. He helped Somin to speak Mandarin better. T.hey usually have conversations in both Korean and Mandarin.

Somin thinks her a bit like her little brother and treats him that way too. She's very caring towards him.

They are really confortable around each other because they are the same age even though they have a slight language barrier. Somin does know how to speak Mandarin but not that well. They don't talk very much even though they used to spend a lot of time together.

 

Most of her friends are male trainees in SM who she was in the same class with. She hasn't been able to make any friends in TS.

how did they meet?:

Few days after So had entered TS she and Yongguk somehow ended up having the same time reserved in the recording room for trainees. They ended up working together and from that day Yongguk and So have been talking and composing together occasionally. From TS Somin is closest to Yongguk, but she still hasn't had the courage and trust to tell him about her harsh training years. They haven't seen each other much after Yongguk debuted with B.A.P.

how did they meet?: 

They haven't actually met each other. Just seen each other in the company building.

 

T o u g h  t i m e s 

How was your character discovered?: 

Audition. She auditioned to SM when she was 16. She left SM in 2011 (right when she knew that her brother would be debuting) and auditioned to TS.

How was her trainee life:

She  auditioned first for JYP and YG but didn't get accepted to either one. Then she auditioned to SM in 2006 and got accepted to there because of her various skills and very good dancing ability. (And her looks. It's SM after all.)

She trained a while with SNSD members and was also part of one of the many different lineups SNSD had before their debut, but she was soon noted unsuitable.  She did befriend some of the members but they haven't seen each other after they debuted and they can't be counted as friends anymore. She also was in the boys dance class like Hyoyeon. After both SNSD and f(x) had debuted she realised that she needed to make herself more interesting for her to be able to debut. So she started to learn Japanese and English more actively and she also started to learn song making. She also started taking guitar and piano lessons to become better at playing them. If that already wasn't enough, she also started to train acting. 

After her brothers debuted in 2011, she just got that feeling that she would never debut under SM because of her character and overall image. So she ended her contract with SM and auditioned to TS. That was maybe one of the best decisions she's ever made. She got in, and had 'Hope' and 'Faith' tattooed on her wrists. Cliché, but she likes them.

She has always been known for her powerfull dancing along the other trainees and it does fit her personality very well. It's her strongest point and she can even do some b-girling. It might be suprising, but she has very bright and even cute singing voice. Her voice it's also quite sweet and she likes singing calm songs, Her dancing and singing are like opposites for each other.

She made many friends in SM, mostly boys in the same dance class. 

Number of years as a trainee: Nearly 8 years.

Experience: She has been back-up dancer in various performances for both SM and TS.

Interviewer: Ah, what a nice name. How old are you and where are you from?

So: I'll be 23 this year. I'm from Seoul.

Interviewer: I see. How confident are you in getting into A.X.E.?

So: I'm very confident. I have a very big variety of skills. I also believe I'm very good leader potential.

Interviewer: Ah, why do you want to be a member of A.X.E?

So: Performing has always been a great passion for me. I want to work as an artist. Music is an international language that can do miracles!

Interviewer: Which position of the group do you want to be?

So: I'm wishing to be the main dancer and vocalist.

Interviewer: And, what about the kind of persona you want to portray? Are you going to be the brain of the group, or the queen of aegyo?

So: I'm confident but caring character. I don't want to go with any usual persona. I'm "The Cat". Sounds mysterious doesn't it? If I get to be the leader, which I really hope happens, I would be "The Cat Leader". Sounds cool, right?
