Some pop star cofessions from me that hardly anyone knows, not even me....

 

1. Most of the clothes I shop for now somehow resemble what my idols wore.

2. I believe that the world hasn't ended in 2012 because

    a) I haven't done anything with my life yet (such as meet my idols)

    b) Exo made their debut this year because SM was smart enough to find 12 guys with awesome powers to protect this planet

3. I imagine having conversations with people in my head.

4. I'm scared of the screaming part in the Mama music video of Exo.

5. When my Korean friend showed me Super Junior in Year 6, back when I didn't know what Kpop was, I thought they were really weird and that they all looked the same..... Shame on me, I know. But I don't regret that time because back then I had only just become obsessed with Cpop.

6. Seeing SHINee on Hello Baby and how little they wore even though it was the middle of a freezing winter made me rethink my idea of "cold" and convinced me to try and not fear the cold.

7. Starving children in Africa? There are also starving and overworked idols in developed, first-world South Korea.

8. I used to refuse to speak Chinese, but as soon as I found out about Cpop, I worked really hard to make up for the years of learning that I had lost, and now I know a few hundred characters.

9. Since knowing Kpop, I have become used to Asian guys with blonde hair.

10. It is easier for me to sing the songs by boy bands than girl bands.

11. I have learnt from experience, if there is a Kpop group that I don't know coming to my country, that I should go and spend money to see them and worry about whether it was worthwhile afterwards. E.g. Nu'est was in my hometown, Sydney, but back then I just thought that they were another annoying rookie band, so I didn't go and see them, and now I'm a big fan of Nu'est I regret it so much...

12. When I'm learning Korean or Chinese, the first things I learn are how to write the names of my many biases and their songs.

13. I've developed a habit of taking pictures of the TV when PopAsia plays my favorite songs to remember the moment.

14. I used to think that I was a true KissMe because I could tell between the voices of all nine members, but now I realise there is a difference between knowing the voices and just memorizing their parts in the song perfectly thanks to the music video....
