Personal; Languages, I love languages

I think I was 6 or 7 when my dad once bought me this huge package full of different books, workbooks, textbooks, videotapes and audiotapes - english lessons. And I loved it, I would listen to those tapes everyday and everynight before I would go to sleep I would play the alphabeth part and sing along to it -I mamorized it so much I still know the exact melody. There was this part where the tape lost the sound for a second, maybe a bit less and I still have that loss of the sound in my ears. I think my dad was the one who actually made me love english so much, though he still doesn't have a clue about it haha.  I think it's amazing how quickly I caught up with the grammar and vocabulary. I mean, of course at first I must have , all I needed was lots of practice. Today I find it weird how my friend don't get the language at all. I mean it's not like I'm briliant with math or something like they are. I wish I knew and understood math better.

Even before I started going to school there were always soap opras on the TV and I'd watch every single episode that was playing. I still remember 2 or 3 of them; La mujer de judas or Dos caras de Ana or La tormenta. There's no way I could get those series outta my head. And that's also how I started learning spanish. At first my grandma would read the subtitles for me, and when I started attending school I slowly started to understand what they were saying with help of the subtitles I could already read at the time. Today, I don't even have to have my eyes on the screen to know what they are saying and can talk basic spanish-I'm not a pro or anything yet but years of practice made it easier for me. I was also attending spanish classes and I loved it. I totally fell in love with the language. I really hope that someday I'll have my chance to study it and go visit Spain or Mexico.

Then there's croatian. I don't really specifically like the language, I mean at least I wouldn't rate them above english or spanish, but I still understand it.  How that happened... I don't really know. But I think it has to do alot with the similarity to slovene-which is my first language. I watched a lot of Croatian soap operas, movies, and as far as I can remember me and my family only went to croatian seaside every summer- nowhere else but to crotatian seaside. I guess it just kinda snuck up on me.

Then there's german: I never, I swear, I NEVER liked/dug the language. I find it really intimidating, and I don't even know why. I think it is such a hard and thick language and I never really had a chance to study it, until now. I thought, why the hech not. It is one od the main language in Europe, heck, it is also one of the main language in the world and I think it could be quite useful for me in my future. Now I love it, god it is suuuuch a hard lenguage to learn, but god I love it. I find it pretty similar to english, at least the grammar, but yeah. Otherwise it is a really beautiful language. Besides, germans have this really tasty chocolate; Milka<3 *winkwink* ahahah

I have been to Italy before, many times actually. And, no offence, I always got this negative vibe from the people there. I got the feeling like they all think too high of themselves. Now don't get me wrong. I have a few very good friends from Italy, they are great, but yeah, I just go that weird vibe everytime I've been there it It kinda made me dislike the language. God, I hated it, It gave me chills everytime I heard it. But then I watched this beautiful italian movie called Tri metri sopra il cielo (though I would mix the actor of the spanish version which I totaly prefer-Tres metros sobre el cielo- and the actress of the italian version... and then BAM, the ovaries would explode.) and I also came over this song Parla con me.....Dude, ever since watched that movie and heard that song I've been in love with the lanugage. It is a beautiful language and i love the fact that it is so similar to Spanish. I love studying it. :D

Gosh I hope I will be able to start taking french lessons in school. I don't think it has been confirmed for junior years. We'll see, I'm just praying they would just throw another language into my timetable.

Slovenian, English, Spanish, Croatian, German, Italian, and hopefully French next year. I also hope I will be able to go study Korean. That would be just a dream come true.

I'm really glad to have parents who support me at each step I take, I'm really grateful. They can be hard on me sometimes but I'm actually glad for that because I don't think I would be who I am today otherwise.
