Dappling with

You know, I never used to read, or even approve of . On sukira chat, on twitter, on YouTube comments, I got why people liked couples (the first couple I liked was haewook), but I never got why they fan-girled to the extent of . I also never saw that much kyumin action in the shows I watched (maybe because I was looking out more for kyuwook/minwook). On FF sites, I wondered why everything was . I avoided them like the plague and only read stories involving girls. Then it started. I started slowly, reading my first fic. I think it was a kyuwook. It felt dangerous, and I only read girl fits for awhile, but then I heard with my own ears, kyumin say saranghae to each other over Sungmin's radio. It was such a sweet moment, and Sungmin even said on his radio that he read hyukmin fics. So I slowly ventured into the world of again. I started reading kyumin, a little of hyukmin, a whole lot of kyumin, a little of minwook, and a whole lot of kyumin. I really saw how they were an OTP. How they were so many people's OTP.

Well, even from my pre- stage when I just fanned couples as...brothers, I was always caught in the kyuminwook triangle. Min should be younger, then they'd be the cute maknae triangle. I can't safely say which (kyuwook/minwook/kyumin) is my top favourite, but let me just say I think that minwook is very sweet, but I think it just ends there.

So I got addicted to fics. In the meantime I had started my first SJ fic, involving an OC girl. I did about 8 chapters, and I thought about it everyday. But then an idea hit me one day because of what they'd said on the radio about an event in Japan, and I decided to try my first attempt . It went well, I got thrice the number of subscribers in one day than my first fic involving an OC girl, and that had been up for days. That was kyumin. Then I also did hyukmin. It's been up for two days, but the response is still lower than my first fic, so I guess it's really just the kyumin fanbase that's that addicted/crazy.

But now it comes to why I even started writing this post. I decided to just click on kyuhyun as the tag filter, and one of the first few stories was about a girl. In the past I would have jumped for joy, as this was a rare find. For old times' sake I decided to look at it, but upon reading the description it was that same old plotline, about that ELF who didn't know better. Then I closed it. I realised why. It wasn't the author's fault that the plot was old and overused, even my own story was like that. But the truth was, I could read the same old plotline about the evil kyu and the innocent minnie and still never get bored. (Ok, I admit I was a little bored so I switched to haewook), but my key finding was this:

After , reading fics involving girls is just like eating without chilli.

There's no spice.

That's all I wanted to say. :)

P.S. I hope I finish my first fic soon.
