Matt X Mello (*insert angels singing here*)

Not only are they hot mofos, but they're AMAZING for angst. Matt x Mello is the reason why I can write fanfiction. So is the next otp I'mma show..

May I also add that the fanart for this ship is AMAZING?! Seriously. Matt x Mello just might be the ultimate ship alongside....

THIS ANGSTY RIVALRY WITH Y AND NEAR IN GENERAL IS JUST...YES.

There's actually a lot of dynamics as to why I love this pairing. I guess you could say that it's the JongKey to Matt x Mello's 2min. Like JongKey, there can be more tension, and you actually learn a lot more about the characters through the ship. You start to feel more sympathetic toward them, and overall, both this ship and the one above just make you feel very committed to them.

May I also add that the fact that Near lives in the end of the DN series makes for a lot more angst in this pairing? Like..oh lord. It makes Mello's death so much sadder. If I ever write a ing doujin, prepare for tears.

Okay, let's move on from Death Note before I drown you in my otaku feels.
