Once coming to Korea, it was decided she would debut as “Ahyoung” since there was already an “Alli” as a solo singer.

Personality:

Ahyoung is quite the dork, to be honest. She has a tendency to obsess over certain things most people find dorky (anime, manga, Pokemon, childhood cartoons, video games, etc.) yet she embraces it to the fullest. She flaunts that she likes a lot of things that most girls her age don’t, and isn’t afraid to talk about what interests her whether it interests the other person or not. This can be quite frustrating to people sometimes when she talks their ears off about things they don’t particularly enjoy as much as she does. This in turn, however, just makes her that much more excited to find someone with the same interests as her. Not only does she find her interests dorky, but her friends back home were the stereotypical “nerdy” boys. They would computer program, talk about video games constantly, and argue over the pronunciation of different Internet slang words. She’s used to hanging out with boys more-so than girls, so it doesn’t faze her much to be around guys constantly. Another dorky thing Ahyoung tends to do is embarrass herself. She gets in certain moods when she’ll just randomly start running around and dancing, cracking up at the stupidest things. When she’s hyper or bored, she’ll sing at the top of her lungs in the most obnoxious voice she can muster, usually earning her a smack from those around her. Back at home, Ahyoung didn’t have many friends. She could make friends and somehow, they’d always end up hurting and leaving her. Once a person who let people push her around, at one point in her late childhood she decided she would stick up for herself and make sure she wasn’t hurt ever again. This gives others the impression that she angers easily and holds pointless grudges, when she is just trying to protect herself from being hurt again. But, it is true that when something is bothering her, she isn’t afraid to talk about it and occasionally get extremely angry about it. She’s really sensitive, not taking criticism or comments she deems insulting well. In contrast to the anger she tends to feel a lot, Ahyoung is naturally just cute. She’s not the best at being y, and feels much more comfortable giggling and trying out her new forms of aegyo on unsuspecting victims. Ahyoung also has very strict opinions. If she feels one way about something, her mind is permanently made up. If she has unpopular opinions and someone asks her about it, she isn’t afraid to tell what she honestly feels. She hates lying. This, though, tends to hurt her a lot as people can get offended when their opinions don’t match. But, she does her best to lay down her opinions lightly, as she heavily cares how people she care about feel about her. She would never want to hurt someone she genuinely likes (she has somewhat of a mother complex about her…), but for people she has a problem with… anything is fair game.

Likes:

Music: Ahyoung is absolutely in love with music. If she isn’t singing, she’s dancing (although dancing is not her strong point), listening to music or playing piano (although piano isn’t one of her strong points, either. She’s just a beginner.). Ahyoung lives, eats, sleeps, and breathes music. Without music, she wouldn’t be who she is at all. Although she loves most genres of music (except for American Country and American Rap), her absolute favorite genre is ballads. You’ll always catch her singing ballads with all of her might when she goes to noraebang. Although ballads are by far her favorite, Ahyoung’s iPod is also filled to the brim with pop songs that are a lot more cheerful than the gloomy ballads she love so much.

Animals: Ever since she was younger, Ahyoung loved animals, her favorite being cats. She would raise homeless kittens and adopt them out at a young age, and always cared well for her cat, her best friend. Although her cat died two years back, her love for animals never did. She loves fawning over pets and looking up pictures of animals on the Internet, wishing she could have them all as pets. If she sees a homeless animal, forget it. She’s taking it in no question, or at least finding it a good home. What kind of animal lover would she be otherwise?

Children and the elderly: First off, Ahyoung absolutely adores kids. If she wasn’t training to be an idol, she’d be some sort of elementary teacher. She can coo at babies for hours and not get tired of it. She’d be glad to accompany young children to the park and play with them until they got to tired. She cared for her younger brothers and cousins in such a manner, leaving her with some sort of motherly-instinct in her. She also loves the elderly. When she sees and older person having trouble, she’d be the first to run up and help them. She can talk to an elder for hours and still want to listen. Although she loves both the elderly and children in a similar manner, children leave her with a happy feeling while the elderly leave her utterly depressed. Once, she went into a convenience store and saw an elderly couple buying toothpaste and cookies. She left the store crying like a baby.

Reading and Writing:Ahyoung loves reading and writing. She is always in the middle of reading a good book, and once she starts, never wants to put it down. Likewise, she is always in the middle of writing some sort of short story and usually stays up late until it is perfectly quiet to write. She needs her full concentration when reading and writing.

Eating: “Diet? I don’t know that word,” Ahyoung tends to say when regarding a comment about her food intake. She loves to eat. She’ll never turn down a good meal, and loves running to the convenience store and coming home with bags full of snacks. Although she doesn’t eat a lot at once, she eats slowly over time until she’s finished all of the snacks she bought within a day. She always reminds herself how lucky she is that she doesn’t gain weight as easily as some girls do.

Playing Games: No matter what type of game it is, Ahyoung loves to play it. Whether it be a video game, a board game, childhood playground game, or even a bet of some sort, Ahyoung will play it. When bored, she often passes her time playing games. Though she isn’t a sore loser, per say, she does tend to get really intense while competitive. She likes to win just as much as she likes to play.

Being Right: Ahyoung feels as though the best feeling in the world is proving you are correct to someone who doubts you. She loves the feeling of correcting people gently, or proving her point in an argument. She always accepts a friendly argument as long as she knows she’ll be the one winning in the end. Many people consider this her major flaw, but Ahyoung is too blinded by the rush she feels once people realize she was correct all along.

Thunder Storms: Ahyoung absolutely loves the sound of rain dripping on the windows, the flash of light in the sky, followed by the loud roar coming from the distance. Whenever there’s a storm, she’ll either go outside or sit next to the window so she couldn’t possibly miss any second of it.

The Internet: This slightly goes along with her dorky nature. Ahyoung loves going on the computer and browsing the internet. She has secret accounts on almost every popular website, and knows her way around them, too. Whether it be social networking, search engines, blogs, or even children’s gaming sites, Ahyoung loves it. She knows her way in and out of every nook and cranny the Internet could provide. If there’s something needing to be done on the Internet, Ahyoung can do it. All you have to do is trust her.

The People Close To Her: Ahyoung makes a lot of friends, but there are few that really stick with her and call her one of their best friends. Due to her small amount of friends, she really appreciates the ones she has and does her best to treat them well. She’s most of the time known as the mother of her friends because she does her best to make sure they’re healthy and living their lives comfortably. She loves treating them with food, gifts, and events. When you’re close friends with her, she loves going overboard to say her thanks, even when it isn’t necessary.

Dislikes:

The Ocean: Ahyoung is terrified of the waves sweeping her away and never letting her out. She flips out whenever a fish or crab brushes her leg. In short, she never goes in the ocean. Never.

Liars and Hypocrites: It’s not right for someone to hide the truth from others, or change their opinion based on who asks for it. It isn’t fair, and Ahyoung makes sure to stay away from those who do such things. When she finds a friend lying, that’s usually the breaking point where they are no longer friends. It takes a lot for her to forgive someone like that.

Drinking and Drugs: Ahyoung saw the lives of people around her get ruined by drinking and doing drugs at a young age, and she makes sure to stay away from it. She plans on never drinking when she is of legal age, not wanting her life to be ruined like the others she had previously seen before her.

Prejudice: Ahyoung is female and proud. Don’t disrespect her, and there won’t be a problem. Say something ist, and expect the worst from her. She hates when people are racist, and sticks up for all races whenever anything is said. She feels very strongly that everyone is equal. Even if the prejudice is said as a joke, Ahyoung will not be amused.

Being Picky: Whether it is about a clean house, or what to eat, Ahyoung hates when others don’t just accept what is given to them. She hates when people nag others because they aren’t satisfied with something being exactly the way they want it. Ahyoung loves to get her way, but she would never nag others about it.

History: Ahyoung couldn’t care less about the historic importance of anything in the world. She likes to say she lives in the present, so the past doesn’t matter to her. It doesn’t hurt that History was her worst subject in school…

Running: Once asked to run for too long in gym class, Ahyoung out and fell into a garbage can. Never again will she go running. Not for anyone.

Sharing Deep Feelings: Ahyoung doesn’t like to share her feelings when they’re too strong for her to handle. She tends to keep things in and hates admitting to people that she’s too weak to handle her own feelings. It’s easy to tell when Ahyoung is upset, but when she’s hurting, only those closest to her will realize it.
Snoring: Growing up with a father who snores as loud as a child screaming, Ahyoung hates it when people snore. She cannot, for the life of her, sleep while she hears snoring, and goes to extreme lengths just so she won’t hear it anymore.

Crowds: Ahyoung hates feeling invisible in large crowds. When she’s out, she always has to hold onto the person accompanying her because she’s afraid the crowd will swallow her up and she’ll get lost. She tries her hardest not to go out in crowded places alone.

Hobbies:

Aegyo: Aegyo aegyo aegyo aegyo aegyo. Ahyoung loves everything about aegyo. She loves watching it, doing it, and learning about it. She likes female aegyo much more than male aegyo, since she likes her men manly. She loves acting cute and always is trying out her aegyo on those around her.

Watching TV: Ahyoung likes keeping up to date on music shows and variety programs. She has her favorite stars and loves seeing them on her television screen.

Shopping: Ahyoung loves going out and browsing the shops. She rarely spends her money, however, unless it is on food. She tends to save her cash until something important comes up. But, nonetheless, shopping is still one of her favorite pastimes.

Photography: When armed with a camera, Ahyoung takes pictures of everything. She’ll never turn down the opportunity to take some pictures, and often brings her camera with her wherever she goes. Once she has the shots she needs, she’ll go on her computer and edit them until she deems them perfect.

Piano: Sure, she’s still only a beginner, but that doesn’t make the piano any less fun! One day, Ahyoung hopes to be able to play Yiruma and Goo Hye Sun songs without a problem, though she knows that’s a long time away.

She used to have a major crush on Alex!), Girls' Generation (She looks up to Sunny as her inspiration), 2AM (in her opinion, the best boy group to ever exist), Wonder Girls (first group she ever saw live), F.T Island (she loves their music and thinks Hongki is adorable), and SHINee (who wasn't a Shawol at one point in time?).

Family and Friends Information

Family Background:

Ahyoung has a mother, father, and three younger brothers (ages 9, 9, and 16). She’s very close with not only her immediate family, but her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents as well. Her family is very close and supports each other well in times of need. Her mother’s side is Korean while her father’s side is Caucasian. She has three aunts and four uncles, as well as three cousins on her mom’s side and three cousins on her dad’s side (all younger than she). Ahyoung’s best friend happens to be her younger cousin Dae (15). She is the oldest of her family amongst the kids, and therefore is used to taking care of people, thus giving her the motherly complex she tends to have. She also is a good leader depsite her age, since she had to lead the children of her family since she was young. She loves her family dearly and talks fondly of them often.

Trainee History:

When JYP came to New York City for auditions, Ahyoung knew she had to try out. JYP was her favorite company. It held most of the artists she called her favorites, and knew it was her dream company. Thankfully, she passed the audition (after stressing and crying for hours beforehand) and trained for one year in New York, and then moved to Korea to complete the rest of her training (which took two years). It was hard for her, and at times she almost quit, but kept thoughts of her debut in her head to keep her strong. Although she moved to Korea, her family stayed in New Jersey. She misses them, but knows it is necessary to follow her dream.

Friends:

- 2AM’s Lee Changmin – Changmin was Ahyoung’s favorite idol, and she had the biggest crush on him before she began training. She secretly had a mission to become friends with him, and after she began training in Korea they became friends after frequently running into each other at the studio. She is closest to Changmin out of everyone she knows in Korea, yet he has no idea she used to fangirl over him before becoming a trainee herself.

- Wonder Girls’ Hyerim – Ahyoung met Hyerim while she was in the practice room. Hyerim accidentally stumbled in and then offered dancing tips to Ahyoung, who was epically failing at her moves. After an hour of dancing, the two had become friendly and Ahyoung’s dance had improved greatly.

Changmin is also a dork. He has a hyung-ish sense of humor and loves cracking sarcastic jokes, though a lot of people don't notice due to Jo Kwon's strong personality. He loves cooking and always cooks for s. He’s like the mother of the group, feeding and looking over s as the oldest. He’s confident about his body, but not about his face (which I have no idea why!). He has low self-esteem, always saying things like, "I need to become handsome." and such. Despite his lack of self-esteem, he loves the camera. He likes taking selcas and when he's on TV, you can tell he loves it when the camera is on him.
