The slave contract

I really wanted to write about this since ages ago but I just got the courage today.

I know that this is a sensitive issues and people do have a split beliefs about this issue but I'm gonna write this anyway.

I've think about the DB5K issues after several months after it happened, I know that I wasn't and isn't present in any of the incident, but this is the results that I got after analyzing and following their news.

Even I have several point of views from myself, as I tried to think of this from several different angles.

As an analyst, I feel that the first thing that I have to do is to think of everything with a clear head.

If I take my fan girl soul out of myself, and if anyone is even reading about this, I ask you to drop your fan girl soul from this point on.

To think of this in a business pov then I guess I would've to say that SM isn't wrong at all...

Yes, business world do have code of ethics, but, not much of them uses the code of ethics.

Why? Simply because the sole reason for business is profit maximazation and money.

The slave contract or the exclusive contract between DBSK and SM was made under the agreement of both parties, and in the end JYJ breached the exclusivity of the contract.

Now, I know some of you may say that JYJ were minors and they weren't allowed to bring lawyers or even their managers said sth to them and their parents which made them believe that the contract isn't as bad as it is.

But, I want to point out that in the end the one who put a stamp on that papers were themselves, not their parents not their managers but themselves, and as soon as they signed that papers what made them signed the papers is no longer a factor, so persuassion factor is nulled.

I am still a minor for American standard, Korean standard as well as my country's standard and I could say that I am able to fully comprehends and understand a contract, so the minor factor is again, nulled.

I think even during that time they must've read or been told that the contract is thirteen years long and the amount they will get is also known, so basically everything is under their agreement.

So JYJ sueing SM on slave contract is also a bit..wrong.

They agreed on it before.

Though ethically SM is wrong for giving those terms given the circumstances and time.

That's how JYJ won, the slave contract indeed is a slave contract.

But again if we throw the ethics, SM is really smart.

DB5K were only teens who went under intense training under SM, and during that time their only hope was to stand on stage and sing.

That's right to stand on the stage and sing. SM uses this little ray of hope, making them believe that if they signed the contract they'll be able to make their wishes come true.

Using a teen's spirit to sign the contract, they must've made the contract long and thick with small handwritings and the most important part of the deal must be hidden somewhere over the rainbow in the smallest handwriting they could ever use, is that wrong?

Ethically, yes.

Otherwise, no/

They know that they'll be either too lazy to read the whole thing and analyze them word by word or that they will be too excited to even read. And they knew that the kids have been through immense hardships for at least several months so they would sign the contract nevertheless, and SM has the upperhand anyway.

The kids literally have nowhere else to run to during that time, even JYP and YG weren't this big, let alone the other entertainment companies. While on the other hand, SM still have a lot of trainees that they could sign the contract with, although deep in their hearts they knew that it would be such a waste to throw the boys out if they retaliate, but hey, they should act all high and mighty to press them right?

Don't bash me, this is what I got on the problems of their contract in the first place.

This is my opinion in my clear head
