The timing couldn't be any more perfect than this. Just a few hours ago, I told our Japanese visiting scientist my goal, rather, the modified version of my parents' goal for me.

By now, most of you know how they wanted me to continue my graduate studies and pursue my PhD - specifically in UC Davis (thanks dad).

But this oh so wrong. My plan is to fulfill my parents' wishes, earn money from it, so that I could do what I want.

I have been mulling about it in the bus, as I walk home...
