Let's talk about you;

Background: The Choi family was very well off due to Soo Mi's father working as CEO and her mother a teacher and housewife. Soo Mi's father had put her and Sooyeong through learning many instruments and ballet to become "well-rounded"; they had no choice because their parents were traditional and the girls should always listen to what he said, however, he couldn't get Jungho to do the same because he was such a rebel. As they got older, Soo Mi's father's business started going downhill and was causing a lot of stress on him, caused him to become so highstrung, which put the household under even more stress because they would have to deal with him. This occured for three years of Soo Mi's life up until when she was about to turn 13 when her mother found out her father was seeing someone else, cheating behind her mother's back for one of those three years. Actually, Soo Mi was the one that found out, her mother had already known for a few months, but said nothing to keep her family as happy and cared for as she could. Jungho knew also, through noticing his mother's odd behavior and snooping, but kept his knowledge from her. He vowed to take the responsible route, not wanting to see his mother like that, and did what he could to provide for the family, so they wouldn't depend on their father for anything. 

Eventually, all tension was so high that it just burst. Their father blamed their mother for the issues that they were having, claiming her a bad wife, and everything. Her mother couldn't take it anymore and left with Soo Mi, Sooyeong at 18 and Jungho. Jungho, although already an adult at 23, was still making his way, so he couldn't go on his own nor did he want to live with his father. Settling in a small house in the Gyeongju, their mother struggled to make a living for three kids as a seamstress. Jungho couldn't take it not being of much help anymore and enlisted in the army at 25, knowing he could send money back to his mother and help take care of the family and his mother wouldn't have to worry about his living expenses.

Things started looking up until their father demanded on seeing his children since he still had custody. Their mother refused and eventually had it taken to court. She lost and have to give up her children two days of every weekend. The only child he had the ability of seeing, however, was Soo Mi; Sooyeong was already 20 and had her own freedom, working on becoming an artists. So, Soo Mi had the unfortunate privelege of having to travel to Jeju Island where her father had moved to to that man until she was old enough not to have to.

In the midst of all this, Soo Mi had grown the desire to become an idol thanks to her envy of them dancing, singing, and maybe even acting every day of their lives without much of a worry, but most especially, seeing how some made enough money to buy their parents a house. She wanted to do that. She wanted to help her mother by doing what she enjoyed doing and so worked on that goal. Taking dance classes, vocal lessons, and acting lessons, everything she figured an idol should be able to do, with help of her mother who had taken up another job unknowing to Soo Mi, she auditioned for every Korean Pop record company she could; from little companies like Jungle Entertainment, DSP media, and Soul Company to Cube Entertainment, YG Entertainment, TS Entertainment and, most especially, SM Entertainment.

When she turned 17, in the midst of  she had received notice of Jungho, already fighting in a war, was killed in battle. Her mother had gone into a sort of depression where she wasn't able to work anymore and Sooyeong had to take over, selling her paintings to make do since how much they had gotten from Jungho could last so long. This only made Soo Mi more determined to reach her goal, mostly because she wouldn't let herself think of what happened. 

She started dating Chihoon at 14 up until 16 when they went to high school together before Chihoon left to work with SM Entertainment. They were happy together for over a year, but when things started going downhill bad for Soo Mi and she started becoming more determined toward her goal, Chihoon felt like she wasn't giving him much attention and they were fighting for about 2 months before Chihoon decided to end it and leave. She was highly upset at him for being selfish like that and she just stopped talking him, stopped even caring about love anymore because it didn't work out for her parents and it didn't work out for her.

How did you get discovered: The regular way. Soo Mi auditioned three times for SM Entertainment, once every year they had an audition since she was 13. She really wanted to get into SM Ent because she saw how great each group that came out of SM was, how skilled they were in what they did; she wanted to be that great - not fame-wise, but performance-wise. After the third time, she assumed it was her persistence that got her in, but it was the effort she put into getting into SM, the dance classes she took, the vocal and acting lessons she signed up for.

Trainee history: Soo Mi was placed in into a group within her second year at SM, but they never debuted and so disbanded.

Pre-debut experiences: During her first year of being a trainee, Soo Mi had found out her brother died. She had to leave to go back home to be with her family. She was only there for two weeks before she decided to come back to work harder. She had lost weight (as SM wanted), but the weight loss only became worse until she passed out during practice and was sent to the hospital for a two week break. Soo Mi came back once again ready to get started again, but this time taking it slow and steady since that was all she could do to save from delaying her debut one day.

Personality: Jongup is a complete and utter dork when he opens his mouth, but he's very sweet and friendly to everyone. He talks and does things without thinking. His personlity changes however when he dances, depending on the dance - he could go from cute and bubbly to serious and tough.

How did you met: Jongup and Soo Mi met when she auditioned for TS Entertainment. She had made it past the first auditions and when it got to the dancing part of the second auditions where she learned choreography, she was completely nerve-racked. She would take whatever time she could to practice on her own away from everyone else and Jongup had stumbled upon her when she was having a little fit to herself about not being able to get the dance and afraid of doing horribly. Jongup, being the "do before I think" kind of person that he is, walked up to her and comforted her, succeeding in calming her nerves. He was that one good friend she made at the place and she admired his dance skills. Even though she didn't make it through and had to go back home, they still exchanged numbers and talking online since then. 

Status: Friends, but Jongup is secretly crushing on her and Soo Mi is still hung up over her break-up from her 2-year relationship with Lee Chihoon 3, which Jongup knows about, which is why he isn't saying anything.

Personality: Hyukjin is a quiet, somewhat mysterious guy who doesn't doesn't say much, but when he does, it makes an impact of some kind. He can also be blunt. Very. He knows what he's good at and he lets it be known, especially when he's helping someone. But under all that ice, he really is a sweet guy. He does things out of pure care even though it comes off cold or mean; he just doesn't know how to control himself sometimes. 

How did you meet: At the TOP Media auditions, Soo Mi had headed to the cafeteria to buy gummy candy because her nerves were getting at her once again. Hyukjin, already a trainee at TOP Media, had gone to the cafeteria also, but to get something to drink because his throat was getting scratchy from practicing so much. He saw Soo Mi going at her candy and he had no hesitation to tell her how bad that was for her; to be an idol, a good performer, you're supposed to watch what you eat. Soo Mi didn't like this at all and was slightly offended. Unable to hold back when she wanted to say because she was already nervous, she told him off. He had gotten upset himself and left without buying the drink. After a while, Soo Mi started feeling guilty for going off on him for no reason, although she was still upset at what he said, even though he had a point... She went off to look for him to apologize and heard someone singing. She really liked how that person sounded and looked through doors to find voice. Upon opening the fourth door she tried, she found it was the guy who had scolded her. She peeked through the door mesmerized and it was like his voice sent a shock to her heart; it was beautiful. He was beautiful at that moment because he didn't look as cold as he did the time before. After he finished practicing for who knew how long, he noticed that she was there and the ice cold look came back again. Soo Mi told him she wanted to apologized for earlier and bowed to him, holding out a water bottle for him because she heard his voice crack a little. At this moment, he softened up to her somewhat, but not letting it show as he took the bottle and took a swig, not bothering to thank her. She compliemented him on his singing and his cockiness came out about how it took little practice to get that good. His cockiness annoyed her, but she brushed it off and told him about her being there for the auditions and he told her the auditions had been over for the past hour. She was shocked beyond belief and wandered how long she really had been standing there. Nonetheless, she was devastated and Hyukjin could tell. She told him why she was doing this and his heart softened up once again for her, still not letting it show. Then he had an idea and was able to get it done; he was able to set up a personal audition for her. It took a lot of work and persuading because he was only a trainee, but it worked. However, she once again didn't make it. Hyukjin told her she should keep trying because even he didn't make it on the first try. She said no more and just took his advice, not knowing wheter it was wholeheartedly or not. She asked if she could keep in contact with him to help her and guide her. He didn't think he was experienced enough to take on that role, but he did anyway.
