GENERAL REVIEW

It's been a while since I've read a good SHINee fic. This one hooked me. I think I finally realized that the main character's POV is the one that gets my attention the most as it speaks of what the character really truly feels for whoever they're feeling something for. Jonghyun and Raina's relationship is really likeable, best friends and all though it may seem common but you have a straightforward reason for it so it's understandable why they'd actually fall for each other. Since it's kind of a short story, I think I won't be really arguing on why Raina fell a little fast for Key but you explained the time being that they were together and thinking of the hours Raina spends with Key for the whole day, I guess you can quite know a person well in that span of time and Key is talkative, so I believe that Raina should know a lot about him after that. Raina says Key is a mystery and it's intoxicating; I can relate to that, rather, I think most people can relate to it because a 'mystery' is something you're curious about and being all too curious can get you addicted at somet point to know the truth. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I read I think Raina doesn't have a lot of guy friends? Maybe that's another factor why Key caught Raina's attention being that he is the only guy best friend of Jonghyun and he has that perky personality for a gay guy. You used Raina's POV very well. Her thoughts are explained well.

The plot is familiar--engaged couple then a best friend of either of the couple attracts the opposite and they have a love affair etc etc. BUT it doesn't mean that your story is not unique. Actually, it is. Might I say, your writing style is mature and very clear. Is it fluff? It's more romantic. I consider fluff to be a little cheesy and though there's some kind of cheese in the conversation shared between Jonghyun and Raina (conversations found somewhere along the first few chapters) and Raina and Key (where they confess to each other in the hospital), it's more of a romantic mature kind of fluff, not the sickening kind of fluff.

I can really feel that when you wrote this you put a lot of effort into this and the fact that this is dedicated to a friend of yours makes this really special. This story is special even to me. The way you describe how Jongyun is 'really desperately attractive'  just feels so true. There's something about Chapter 4 (Even still, it seems we have secrets...) that truly pins me. There's this ironic feel in the whole of your story, but it's the good kind of ironic. Raina does something for Jonghyun and then she eventually ends up with Key. (kekeke, can't help thinking about this part) Then, Jonghyun is in love with someone else too and does that make it ironic that he's mad at Key for consuming Raina's time at most parts while Taeyeon consumes his?

I'm close to my conclusion for this review. I think it's really brave and unique of you to add to the last part of your story where they are in their older years. It just solidifies the relationship and the love they have for each other and I find that really sweet. Key is sweet. KEY IS SWEET. Who wouldn't want Key to be sweet? Anyway, the pictures/posters you've used have catchy phrases. Oh, and this is a contest entry? I truly hope you win! Two thumbs up for this fic. Good luck with this entry! Hope you write more beautiful stories as this. :D

aw, thank you so much for this generous review! It means a lot to me, not only that someone would take the time to read my story, but also to generate such a well-thought out (and complimentary!) analysis of it. I really appreciate it. ^_^ That you connected to portions of it on a personal level is just a bonus for me. :D I love that. (btw are you a Blinger? just curious...).

I agree that the plot is a little overdone; there's just something about your man's BFF that's smexily scandalous~ muhaaahaaaa. I'm playing. >< keke As for Raina not having a lot of boy friends/friend-boys, I think that's safe to say. Her perception of guys is a little immature, perhaps, only to blown out of the water by enigmatic Key. I imagine he has that effect on a lot of people IRL. hahaha

Thank you again!
