What writers can learn from Psy ^0^b

We can learn so much from watching tv. Yes. Nod, nod.

My sister and I were channel surfing when we stumbled upon Talk Asia's interview with korean superstar Psy.

So, what does Psy have to do with writing? Psy is not only a singer/rapper but also a composer. In fact, he taught himself how to compose.

He downloaded rap music, copied the beats and translated the lyrics into Hangul.

Humans learn through example. And this is exactly what Psy did...and what editor/coach Daphne Grant suggested doing.

Know how professionals did it.

See the pattern, the style. Copy the words (but don't plagiarize by claiming others' works as your own). Analyze.

Eventually, like Psy, you'll be able to find your style and write with your own unique voice.
