• Personality :

 

You could say that Kimberly Ann is a little tomboy-ish and hardcore but those are pretty much her exterior personality. That's because people judge her base on her outer appearance instead of seeing her as someone who might be different from what they think but she's the total opposite of what they see! She is more lady like than anyone actually thinks. (That's because she does rapping, hip hop and poppin'. Street Jazz is another dance style she learned from her father.) She is actually gentle and very sweet especially to people whom she care for. She just love being super friendly to people because of the way she was brought up by her parent.

Unlike most stuck ups, she is more open minded and tolerant. She can tolerate nonsense for a long period of time but if you really piss her off she wouldn't hesitate to give you a piece of her mind and with her mind she could do anything she can think of. She's pretty much open to questions, ideas, advice and would consider them carefully before deciding. However, the one usually giving sage advice, questions and ideas would be her because she is pretty much experienced in dance and rap. (She has been dancing all her life!)
She's super trustworthy and can be very reliable when you need her to give you a helping hand. She may be a little to chittery chattery but you can trust her to keep your darkest secrets that's because she respects people's privacy and would like the others to do the same if she were to tell a secret. You can rely on her to keep your secrets and trust her whole heartedly. (Plus she loves juicy secrets. So, just spill the beans.)
She is very supportive and caring to the people around her, perhaps due to her upbringing. She is pretty much like an umma because she is usually the one doing the house chores, cooking and stuffs. She supports her friends and family and cares for them like a mother would and would give them the best advice in either dance, school work, rap, vocals or may be even life advices.
She can be a little perhaps VERY child like for her age but she can be very charismatic when she wants to especially on stage. She maybe a popper, rapper and a hip hopper but behind those hardcore, tomboyish dance styles and rap lies a very child like  person. However she only does aegyo when she thinks that there are situatioin which needs aegyo to take care of, like going out having bubbletea with SeHun and LuHan. On top of that all, she is very charismatic on stage whenever she raps or dance.
To stand out among the rest of the trainees, she has to be friendly and bubbly. She may be the only person whom you see everyday with a smile on her face even when she is sick, injured or dead tired. She would always smile to remind herself that she is training hard for her dreams and treat her parents to a nice holiday.

She is completely driven and hardworking. She will complete everything in time even homework  even when time is short. She will accomplish everything that is needed to be done even if it means staying up late till wee hours because she believes firmly in doing things on time and giving it on time. (For example: Dancing till 3 am in the morning)

 

• family background :

Kimberly Ann was borned in Canada but was raised in Singapore until she was 8 and moved to Seoul, Korea when she was 9.

She's a mix Canadian, Chinese, Korean. She is born as a single child into a family of dancers. Her Parents are dancers since young. Her father, Dylan William Tomlinson, specialized in Hip Hop while her mother, Park Shin Hye, is specialized in street jazz. As soon as she could start walking, her parents influenced her to dance. When she reached the age of three, she got very influenced thus learning both dance style from her parents.
Her parents are her great motivation to do well in dance. Both of her parents will always give their fullest support when it comes to dance competitions or things related to dance because they know how to relate to her about dance and will always correct her mistakes if she did a move wrong. 
They were the one who brought her to U.S to compete in a world wide competition using the style of hip hop in the under 10 catergory and she won first place out of the thousands that auditioned. They too brought her to Venice, Spain to compete in a well known Street Jazz competition and won second place out of the thousands who auditioned.
At the age of 15, when she was finally casted into SM, her parents gave her the full support by visting her from time to time whenever they could.

• trainee history 

 

Kimberly Ann was street casted in MyeongDong where she participated in a dance competition and was immediately casted as a trainee as she won first place for that particular competition. 
She's always considered as the hard working one in SM. During her trainee days she would always trained hard from 3 pm (which is after school hours) to 11 pm or even till wee hours to perfect moves and learn new ones. She would never complain about any injury or ache even if she is in pain. It was tough for her as  she goes through long hours of practice as compared to the rest, she had insufficient amount of sleep but will always be the first to wake up. She'll never complain about it.
She is very sociable thus she has alot of friends who supports her and looked for her whenever they are troubled or have doubts with their dance moves. She learns poppin from Taemin and Kai because she prefers move which are rather more challenging and difficult to master. She also learn rapping from EunHyuk as she is mentored by him for dance under hip hop and rapping. She is also mentored by LuHan for vocals and that makes her very popular among trainees.
However with that kind of fame comes with a price. Despite being all so fabulous and stuff, she constantly gets threat messages or physical contact bullying from senior trainees and some staffs. During one of the days in Trainee's boot camp, she was nearly by one senior trainee but Kris managed rescued her in the nick of time and the senior trainee was kicked out of SM.
 In trainee days, she would also enjoy free breaks and she would always go to Starbucks in her black tee, baggy pants and cap to enjoy comfort.

• how we met :

The first person that Kai met was Kimberly as she was the one who caught his attention when he first came to SM as a trainee. He likes her warm personality thus will try his best to get to know her better. He'll always ask her out for lunch and wait for her till she finishes her practice or even practice with her. An incident happened (kai got a (partially) full glimsp of Kimberly in the handicapped toilet) which parted them for a while but they got even closer after when filming together as cameos for "To The Beautiful You".
