people are so going to hate me after they read this.

continuation from the title, hrm, well, it's like this. i just need to get something off my chest, you know. so, it seems like almost everyone's designing here, at AFF and i'm not trying to say that it's a bad thing because it obviously isn't. it's a good thing that everyone's showing their own style and whatnot. so, what the hell am i trying to get to? okay, i'll just get straight to the point. it seems like animated posters have been viral over here since, forever? i was not really active back then because i didn't really know how to use this and i was not really accustomed to the people and the surrounding so i'm not quite sure about this. but, whatever. so, i'm going to talk about animated posters. like what i've mentioned, they're super viral here. to be honest, as a designer myself, i dislike it. i just think that animation doesn't look good at all in any poster despite how good you are. (okay maybe some of them do actually look good. but just a few out of all animated posters i've seen) a poster should have remained as a....poster. immobile and...still. yeah, you get what i mean? this animation thingy, to me, would only look good in gifs- stuffs like that. it's just pretty saddening to see how some posters have that potential, you know, to be outstanding but because of the animation included in those posters, it just tamps down the overall quality. to me, though. maybe it's just me who only thinks this way and maybe this comes out from me because i've no idea how to do that given the fact that i've never bothered to learn that technique. i just think that, people should have not overused this because i'm afraid that i'll get to a point where i'll smack my monitor whenever i see one. LOL okay that's just me exaggerating but whatever. you get my point. i don't like overrated things and i'll just stick with traditional posters because me is old fashioned liddat. and another thing is about the tumblr edit-ish posters. they're beautiful, okay and me is so jelly because i'm not good at making one, at all. but i think only a few have succeeded at portraying the elements needed for the tumblr edit-ish posters to be acknowledged as fanfics' posters, you know? okay, bye. please don't hate me. me is shoooo kind. LOL. okay bye. i'll hide in a corner now. tata.

I agree with the gif thing

as for the tumblr thing .___.
well, I try not to do it like what the others are doing. I always try something new.
But people say it's tumblr-like .___.

not true...because I honestly do not intend to make tumblr-ish posters. lol

hm. I can see where you would think that... personally I love them, but I can also relate to this. :P
plus, isn't it much more timeconsuming to make an animated poster?? I'm still learning about graphic design, and how to improve, so I've never made an animated poster myself.
but yeah, I can slightly agree. A lot of the nonanimated posters I see are boss, so~

I just want to burn every single tumblr poster I see, but by telling how many tumbler posters there are here, that would make me the Satan of graphic designing.

I seriously have done this to everybody. Just ranting about how traditional posters will always be best instead of all this tumbler crap.

i feel exactly the same way. most of the time from my limited view of these new posters, the animation is not necessary. maybe we are both more minimalistic when it comes to our approaches. "Less is more" and "if its not going to enhance the piece take it out" sometimes i just ask myself "so what does this really do for this poster" when i see an unnecessary animation. it also relates do "just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should" but also "just because you DONT do something doesn't mean you CANT" blah ahha im like a quoting machine early this morning. oh and dont even get me started on the tumblr-ish ones.

I sometimes do animated posters if I feel like they need something to kick it off. Although and well preferably, I like inanimate things. It doesn't hurt my internet, you know?
