Thoughts on Hyuna's comeback... (Part 2)
When I first heard about Hyuna making a comeback in October, I wrote a blog about my thoughts on it. Now that the MV for Ice Cream came out not too long ago, I'll write out my thoughts on that.
In simple terms: Song = Good. Music Video = *facepalm*
The music video wasn't completely a trainwreck, but I felt like it could be better... and by "better" I mean less overly ual stuff. I like the song, but I don't love it.
What I particularly like about the song is the music and backbeat behind it. It's pretty catchy but it's not something that I would be humming to all day long. As for Hyuna's singing/rapping/whatever it is... I just don't like it. I personally feel like Hyuna's rapping style has changed in a bad way. I loved her rap in Muzik and Huh. Volume up was okay but it wasn't to the level where it is now.
The way I see Hyuna: I think of her as my older sister. Mostly because they are the same age. (My sister was born in September of 92 and Hyuna in June of 92) and I really don't like it when Hyuna does all that "y" stuff. It plain flat out doesn't appeal to me. (But of course, I am a little weird with my opinon against the average person)
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but I miss the old Hyuna. I miss the way her raps were powerful and I miss how it contributed a lot to 4minute. I honestly think that if this keeps up, 4minute might disband. As I've said before, they keep giving Hyuna the solo comebacks instead of the ones who really deserve it. The song Change was good for Hyuna and I really wished Ice Cream was a little more like that.
