Yep, I think it's to vote for featured stories. The only problem I've seen is that people tend to upvote already-featured stories a lot, which kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? Oh well~

that is not true! my story is M and i have the arrow too. I guess now you can vote on mine to. but it juts took a bit longer

if you got alot of upvotes , you'll get feautred , now the aff users are the ones who vote , you need to have atleast 100 karmas to be able to vote(it doesnt take your karma ^^)
1 click - 2 karma points , you can vote to non- stories only though...

Yup basically what it does is if you get a lot of the arrows, your story gets featured ^^

Click on it in order to vote for it. The most voted story will get featured or the number of votes will play a large part in featuring the story.

it's there for the reader to click. Every time someone clicks it it means that they want your story to be featured. Jason added this a couple of days ago.
