i need a beta

I'll be very honest right now in saying that I'm very shy and easily embarrassed. But I really, like desperately, wishes to improve. But to find a beta, I don't know, I'm afraid of letting those I know well to read my stories but I'm afraid of opening up to people I don't really know. WHYYYY IS THIS SO SCARY? ;_____;
