Star in a Big Bang music video? ‘I’ll do it for free!’

In theory, it could have ended with a big letdown, instead of a big bang.

That is, Ann Kok could have been dragged out of the press conference for being too forward with the five guys from one of K-pop’s hottest boy bands.

But Big Bang’s G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri did not flinch at her requests to be their friend and to even star in their next music video. Instead, the quintet flirted with her.

The New Paper had invited the local actress to be reporter for a day and, thanks to organiser Samsung, the pixie-faced 39-year-old babe got to “play” with the Korean hunks, who are aged 21 to 24.

For an hour at Stellar @ 1-Altitude on Thursday night, the TV star showed that she can be a starstruck fan herself.

Her love affair with Big Bang started earlier this year, when she first spotted a picture of T.O.P (whose real name is Choi Seung Hyun) online with his hair dyed blue.

She fell in love with Big Bang’s music after watching their music videos – her favourites include Fantastic Baby, Blue and Monster.

She also owns memorabilia such as T-shirts and mobile phone accessories.

Kok’s hands were shaking when she took the floor and asked questions – in a mix of English and Korean – on TNP’s behalf.

The boys – who were in town for their two-night concert (last night and tonight) as part of their Big Bang Alive Galaxy World Tour
2012 – had been subdued all this while but broke out into grins once she spoke.

Said Kok: “It’s very nice to meet you, I’m an actress here. My Korean is very bad. I’m just going to tell you how I feel about you and let it all out, it’s pretty embarrassing.

“I love your music, I love the way you dance, I love the way you look and I love your songs.

“Every night I listen to your songs.

“Is there a possibility that I can be in your next music video?”

The 150-strong crowd, which included the media, local celebrities such as Rebecca Lim and Romeo Tan and Big Bang fans started cheering for Kok as everyone waited for an answer.

Caught by surprise, the boys exchanged cheeky glances before G-Dragon (whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong) grabbed his microphone and said: “I think there are many opportunities to star in our music video. It’ll be our honour to work with you. I would now like to invite you for an audition.”

More cheers and laughter ensured as Kok replied: “I’ll do it free of charge.”

T.O.P, arguably the most popular member of the group and Kok’s favourite, had remained quiet, only politely answering questions
about his arm that he had in a cast and sling, from an injury he had recently from filming an action movie.

But after G-Dragon spoke, he took the initiative, grabbed his own microphone and flirted with her in his y baritone voice.

Said T.O.P: “It’s about time for our next album. However, looking at all our music videos, all the ladies that star in them have all been very y.

“Do you think you’re up for that?”

Showing her lovely dimples, Kok didn’t miss a beat and replied to louder cheers: “Singaporeans know if I can be y.”

Sensing that there perhaps was a mutual attraction, Taeyang chimed in and told Kok: “You should give him (T.O.P) your number.”

But a blushing Kok just thanked Taeyang and forged on with her next question.

Kok plucked up her courage and managed to blurt out: “Can we be friends?”

To this, Taeyang smiled and replied: “Yeah , of course. Why not?”

And Kok’s experience did not end there.

After the press conference, she was invited onstage alongside Lim, Tan and Koh Ya Hwee for a group picture with the hunks.

Kok took the opportunity to hand Taeyang a piece of paper with her phone number and e-mail address.

Both she and Taeyang didn’t say a word as he accepted the piece of paper and the cheeky fellow proceeded to give a victory punch in the air after she walked offstage.

Kok, who had picked up Korean recently, told TNP: “I was very nervous throughout the entire thing and felt like I was shaking throughout.

“It’s a pity that T.O.P was wearing sunglasses so I couldn’t look into his eyes.

“There were so many other things that I wanted to say, but I didn’t get a chance to. But I consider it a miracle that I could meet them up close,” she said, still starstruck.

To look spiffy for the boys, she had picked up a black Marc Jacobs romper earlier in the day and paired them with Chloe shoes.

She also attended the Big Bang concert last night with fellow fan, local actress Patricia Mok and sat in the VVIP area, which cost them $321 each. They will also be flying to Malaysia next month for the concert there.

Of her Big Bang craze, she said: “T.O.P is my favourite because he has a really nice voice and he’s very cute.

“When he left the press conference, he walked past me and I managed to tell him ‘take care’ in Korean, as he looked very uncomfortable with his arm in a cast.

“I will have to get to know him first to find out if he’s dating material. I can’t like someone based on looks alone.

“He has said before that age doesn’t matter (T.O.P is 24) and I feel the same.”

I am pissed off, simple because of how she is reacting, I love big bang too, but that doesn't mean she can go to them and say all that, then what about hardcore fans???? i have been their fan for more than 3 years!!! She is only their fan for less than one year!!! As a VIP, she is a celebretiy and she got chance to meet them, talk and even pass your phone number to them and you flaunt yourself at them. WHat about me??? Us??? the ones who been their for them through thick and thin, while she was so new!!!

I even saw the video of this interview and i felt like seriously killing her!

How do you guys feel? when, your local celebrety behaves like that, when we the hardcore fans can only see them from a distance especially international fans who get to see them once a year or thorugh videos of reality shows!!!

Leave comments people, i like to know what i am feeling is reasonable or just too much!?!?!?

Well, I was angry too :p I don't think she should have said those stuff esp knowing how many fans were there at the conference. I mean like, she shouldn't have done it so openly :/
