Thesis
It remains not a matter of mere choice but also a matter of inherence in which one succumbs to the pernicious evil lurking within the mortal heart; eradicating any remnants of humanity that once defined the individual as something more than a savage. In William Golding's Lord of the Flies, Golding conveys that the unfair system of society and desire for power still does not fully encompass the vices of the world at large. He instead depicts that the defects of societal values boils down to the defects of human nature itself, deeming the statement 'man is the root of all evil' indisputably correct.
