THE MIX | Kang Yem Si

Personality: Ever heard of a cold city woman? Well, she’s the same. Yem Si lived in Los Angeles for 7 years and Busan for about 10 years. She’s a total book worm and enjoys studying. She’s cold hearted to people that she does not know and can be extremely immature around her family. She will speak her mind and not care if it will hurt others. She is often regarded as “The ” of her school in Busan. She can’t help it! Her life revolves around school and illegal underground dance clubs. She’s not the nicest person, but she’s not a complete witch either. While she may be a studious and cold hearted woman, she is also a carefree and adventurous person. She has only broken down from her cold exterior when she is crying or extremely happy.

Character/Family Background: Unfortunately, she was kicked out of her prestigious elementary school in LA and was forced to move to Busan. Her parents were divorced at that time and her father, Park Jin Young, left her mother and herself without a thought. Your mother took you out of that school and made you move back to Busan, her hometown. In Busan, since it was a harbor city, Yem Si learned to fish and fend for herself. Her mother is strong willed like her and Yem Si has no idea where her father is. She is determined to find him and get revenge for leaving her family years ago. As for schooling, she enjoys being in the library, where no one can bother her. She has no friends at school, since her neighborhood was so close knit that they would not accept anyone from the States. She enjoys learning English and is gradually learning more through the millions of books at the public and school libraries.

Likes: She enjoys dancing, walking in the park, eating, reading, writing, learning new things, grocery shopping with her mom, dogs, plants, winter time, subways, and painting.

Deslikes: She despises clowns, rain, the heat, fashion, make up, her father, her mother’s snoring, her school, her neighborhood, dust, dirtiness, lip biting, and spicy foods.

Hobbies: Her favorite pastimes would be dancing, reading, writing, walking in the park, eating, having heart to heart talks with her mother, painting, going to the underground clubs, sneaking out of the house, and cleaning.

Habits: When Yem Si is nervous, she will take both of her pointer fingers and press them together, like Hinata of Naruto. When she is embarrassed or bashful, she will scratch the back of her neck.

Trivia: She is a very contradictory person. She doesn’t believe in love because of her parents but another part of her wants to find Prince Charming. When she showers, she dances in the stall, but slips most of the time.

How were you discovered? In an underground dance club “Blend”, by a scout from SM. The scout black mails Yem Si to join the company or else he will report her as an underage student going to an illegal club. She did not have to go into an audition but was automatically a trainee. Thus, she left her mother in Busan and gained many haters because she only trained for a little bit of time. Once she finds out that her father is the CEO of JYP Entertainment, she's out to destroy his reputation by showing him that SM is WAYYYYY better.

Trainee for: 1 Year.

Stage Name: Kang Yemmie

Persona: She is known as the “evil maknae” and is well known by South Korea as the immature one of the group.

Why were you kicked out of the group?: Into about the last month of training, her mother fell ill for an unknown reason. Many doctors believed that she was depressed and should seek profeshional help, but you doubted she needed it. Your mother was over your father...right? You had to give up your dancing dream and decided that leaving the whole SM family, the only people you cared about other than your mother and now ex-members, was going to be hard, but you would move on. Your mother passed away the week after your came back home. You entered sadness and depression, but it passed eventually. You never told your ex-members, Kai, or D.O. why you left and you were afraid of them getting mad at you, so you left SM permanately and joined YG instead, still seeking revenge on JYP for indirectly killing your mother and abandoning you.

What are you doing / What will you do now that your not in the company?: You're in YG now and although you were still emotionally attactched to SM, you welcomed YG also. You train and try to improve your weak spots with the help of BIGBANG and 2NE1, but you still feel sad leaving SM. You're afraid of your ex-members or anyone in SM recognizing you, so you stay away from the SM building and died your hair from Brown/Black to a dark, dark red. If Kai or any of the others found you, they would feel betrayed for sure.

How did you meet? Since your mother always enlisted you for help at the local seafood shop, you worked at the register. Kyungsoo believes that Busan has the best seafood and his favorite place to go to was “Kang’s Seafood”. Your mother adores him while you just don’t care. He finds you interesting and a puzzle, whom he might just want to meet over a dinner date.
