「 My true self 」

Personality: Mei is a very calm and blunt person who's never afraid to say her opinion. She cares for people's feelings though, and is very caring and nice, despite her monotone appearance. She's a very fluid dancer and goes with the flow not wanting to stand out as much. At times she smiles, and is more like an older sister to everyone. She has a nice personality and is very trustworty, so she'll never spill your secrets. She's quite straightforward and will tell you how she feels right away. But, she has those random outbursts of derp that makes everyone laugh. Mei might be critical, but that shows she cares about you. She's overall a calm and kind person you'll probably make friends with quickly, though she's awfully shy when you first meet her. She hates public speaking because she's shy, and will usually sink in the background, unless she's performing. Another thing she doesn't really like is being called cute, feminine or adorable. She may look like a doll, but she rarely ever uses that to her advantage. She wants to be seen as a young woman and not a teenage girl. She still has a soft spot for cute things and strawberries, though, and sometimes does aegyo half-consciously, even if she never likes being forced to do aegyo. She gets scared pretty easily and it might be a funny sight to see her freak out, but she's quite frightening when angered, though it takes a lot to get her purely angry, as she is a calm and controlled person.

Character/Family Background: Born in Manila, Philippines, Mei had a pretty normal life with loving parents and nice friends. She moved to Shanghai when she was 10, and learnt Mandarin there. She loved History and Geography, but out of all those things, she loved dancing the most. She can't help but dance to every song she listens to, and when her parents noticed this, they gave her dancing lessons. She got better and better, and also had singing lessons. She went well at school but always thought she could do better. She worked as a part-time waitress and cleaned up after restaurant hours. Once, she served an SM representative who was visiting China and was caught by that same representative dancing with the broom as she cleaned after hours. A few days later, Mei received a letter to audition. Mei was at first embarrassed that she was caught dancing quite weirdly but was excited and auditioned anyway. She got in and her parents were very proud of her. I mean, who wouldn't be proud of their own daughter if she was about to be famous and known worldwide?
