personality:

Kayeon is rather shy, and this was caused by the fact that she moved too many times in other countries, thus she couldn't make any friends because of the difficulty of a different language. However she has some friends, the only problem is that they have to wait more than usual before being considered friends by her. In fact, she really difficultly trust people who she has known for a little amount of time. She likes to read books and because of this she has an open mind. If she knows to be in the truth but people don't believe her she can be a bit stubborn, but normally she isn't like that. She tends to take everything in, without telling anything to anyone, so if she has a problem it is really difficult for her friends to understand it. If she is sad she tries to smile and not to cry since she doesn't want people around her to worry for her. If she is happy, instead, she expresses it. She is particularly mature, probably because she has a little brother whom she loves more than anyone and she considers her duty to take care of him. Even if she loves her parents she doesn't express it and it is difficult that she can feel homesick. If something, that doesn't involves her, happens, she is indifferent to it. But if she is involved she tries to sort out the problem calmly. She has never really fallen in love with someone; she has liked a boy when she lived in China but after she got to know him she changed idea because she didn't like his character. Since she likes to read, she has a great creativity and fantasy and she daydreams a lot, especially about a love story as the ones in the romances. She does believe that what happens in dramas and books can actually happen in reality, but she doesn't believe in love at first sight, since she has to know the person's character to knew if she likes him or not. So we can call her a sentimentalist and a romantic person but still with a bit of realism. If she cries she tries to do it where no one is near her, since she doesn't want other people to see how weak she is. She considers herself a weak person but in reality she isn't like that. In fact when she moved to China with her parents, she was most of the time alone with her brother and she had to resolve many problems, caused by him, by herself without the help of her parents who were working. Even if she can't normally express her feelings, when she sings she can convey all her feelings in the song. When she is angry she closes herself in her room and she starts to sing in order ro relieve her stress. She isn't really a sporty person even though she likes to dance and she has always had a real talent for it.

On stage, she isn't the type to take all of the camera time. She really doesn't care about that and she also doesn't get mad if another member of the grouptakes all of her camera time. Maybe she is also a little happy like that, since she is really shy and so she prefers to remain in the shadow instead of having every spotlight on the stage pointed on her. When the camera's on, she doesn't really change as many other idols and celebrities do. She doesn't like liars and so she also doesn't want to lie to her fans. So, on programmes and lives she is the usual self. Not really talkative, who doesn't smile a lot, but still able to convey the deepest emotions in the songs. She usually isn't nervous and even if she is anxious, she hides it really well, so no one can really notice it. She has also a dorky side as on concerts, she usually doesn't know what to do, since it's her first time doing something like that and so she followes the other members and sunbae actions. So you would see her wink or throwing hearts as Infinite's Woohyun does, or also waving to everyone and dancing as B.A.P's Zelo does, but in the end she would blush and hide her face with her hands, thinking about what she has done.

It's really dificult for her to fall in love. The problem is that she has really high standards. She likes to read and so she has always dreamed about love stories and prince charmings. She still believes to the fact that the prince charming exists and that he might be waiting for her somewhere. So, if you want to attract her, then you probably have to have a perfect skin, perfect body and face and also - and most important - a perfect character. Ideal type? Of course a gentle, kind, nice, loving and blah blah blah boyfriend. We all want that type of person to take care of us, don't we? Also she is awkward in love since she has never dated someone, so you can't probably wait for her to do the first move. She won't ever do it. She also likes boys who prepare great events for her, she isn't really the simple type, and the blame is again on the books she read. She is really devoted and can grow really attached to her boyfriend, and she usually isn't jelous, since she trusts someone who she chose as her pince charming. He is perfect, how can he possibly do something low like cheating?

background:

  Her father works as a photographer, so he travels a lot, but he isn't paid so much because his boss has a grudge against him: in fact, when they were young and they both did the contest to work at a photography agency Kayeon's dad passed while his friend (now is boss) failed the entrance test. After some years his friend became the boss of his late dad's agency and Kayeon's father was soon transferred in that agency as an exchange of photoraphers. Moreover her father liked the same girl as the boss so he decided to transfer him in Japan in order to make him forget about the girl. When he transferred in Japan he met Kayeon's mother. She was a farmer in the city of Katsuura. He had visited the city for the annual festival held every summer at the most important temple of the city and she met her there while he was doing photos to the landscape. There they got married and had Kayeon, but when she was 2, her father was again transferred, this time in China, in a city on the sea, like Katsuura. There her mother continued to grow plants in the little garden they had while he continued with his work. Kayeon grew up there until she was 12, then she returned again in Japan. In fact her grandfather was sick and so the family again transferred in Katsuura in order to take care of the sick relative and of the house. Kayeon was spotted in Japan by an SM scout and her parents allowed her to go to Korea. She knows some words since her dad is Korean but she can't do a fluent and prolix dialogue in Korean. She also knows English because she was always a good student and English was one of her favourite subjects, back in school.

However Kai is an early 94er since he was born in the before February and so before the end of the Korean year, so he can be considered as a 1993 liner.) | They are friends.

Kai is the y dance machine of the rookie group EXO. There is no fangirl who cannot drool because of him and he dances like only a few know. Usually people think that he is cold and not a nice person, not a person to get along with, however Kai isn't like that. If you really get to know him he is a little dorky. He says himself that he is y, but he gets embarassed after saying it. He is really shy and he usually has that pouty-expression on his face. When he gets embarassed then he smiles widely, but usually he doesn't smile a lot, or simply he smirks. He is bestfriends with SHINee's Taemin and they act like brothers when they are together, they also resemble themselves so much. He likes to dance along SISTAR's songs and his favourite celebrity is Usher. He is shy but not really akward when it comes to love. He really likes skinship, so for him it isn't strange hugging his bestfriend - be it a man, or a woman like Kayeon. Also, with the person he loves, he can be really possessive and jelous, really jelous, super jelous. He also can say cheesy lines, he doesn't get awkward or embarassed saying them, as long as it is to the person he loves.

how did you meet?:

Kayeon met Kai when she transferred in the agency. After she passed the audition, she went to the agency with the other new trainees and she started to introduce herself to the various workers, coordinators, teachers and so on in the agency. SM has nearly 1000 employees so it wasn't really an easy thing to do. Going back and forth, she met the other trainees who were at the moment going to the reharsal room and in the group there was also Kai. She really didn't notice him, since she was tired because she had been goin back and forth from a room to another to greet as many people as possible. But Kai, noticed her instead. He got captivated by her. It's not like she was tall or extremely beautiful, but she had that kind of particualr aura around her. Ok, saying it in normal words, he had fallen in love with her at first sight, but he couldn't really admiti it. He was a cool guy and usually love at first sight is something for girls

Then Kayeon and the other trainees went to introduce themselves to the trainee who were already in the agency. Also Kai and the other EXO member were in the trainee group back then. Kai was longing to hear her voice and something about her, but when she opened her mouthg she only said "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Baek Ka Yeon. I can't talk well in Korean, so please take care of me." she said. Then she thought a bit and she added "but I talk in English and Japanese." she concluded with a broken Korean. Kai found really cute the way she said those sentences, even though his desire to know more about her hadn't been fulfilled. How he wished he knew English like Kris in that moment!

When the teacher went away, the trainee chatted among themselves, except for Kayeon who was there alone, without knowing what to do. She couldn't really start a conversation with someone, since she didn't know the language. Then, Chanyeol, who is the usual troublemaker, and had noticed that Kai had been looking at Kayeon for all the time being, he took Kai from the arm and dragged him to where she was standing.

"Hi, I'm Chanyeol and he is Jong In, he has fallen in love with you from the first moment you entered this room, so would you give him your telephone number?" he asked thinking that he was doing a favour to his friend. However only embarassement could be seen on Kai's face at the moment, and he had just hit Chanyeol on the stomach because of what he had done. Kayeon looked at them quizically.

"You are Jong In-kun, and you are Chanyo-" she couldn't finish well, because the "l" sound didn't exist in Japanese, so she didn't know how to pronounce it well. Chanyeol moved closer to explain her her name, but Kai shoved him away from them.

Kayeon then continued "What means giving telephone number?" she asked repeating Chanyeol's words. She couldn't understand a period so complex.

"Ah, don't worry about that, my friend says silly things. " he replied trying to speak in a simple way so that she could understand him. She gave him an ok sign with her hand and from then on they became friends. Or at least, Kai tried always to talk with her, but she wouldn't understand anything.

Yuri Chinen | 18 | Idol in Hey! Say! JUMP | He is a really good friend. At first Kayeon disliked him because he was too talkative and he couldn't stop to talk he was really a nuisance, always following her everywhere like a pet. But then she got used to him and she also found out that he knew how to sing and dance too, so they started to train together, but still they didn't have any plans on auditioning.They only did it because they enjoyed it. Yuri, lives in the same neighbourhood as Kayeon - in Japan - and he usually helped Kayeon's grandma with the plants and the farm. He had never met Kayeon, since she was still in China at that time, but yet he felt like if he already knew her since her grandma would always talk about her all day long. So when he finally met her, he knew what her character was, but not how pretty she was. She was his first love, unrequited, but still love. At first Kayeon didn't like him because he already knew her name even though she hadn't introduced herself. But in the end she got used to him and started to slighlty admire him because of his outgoing and bubbly personality. She doesn't know if that feeling towards him can be considered love and she doesn't know that he loves her because he never confessed.

Friends

Zhou Mei-Hua | 18 | OC | student | she likes to dance like Kayeon and to sing, she is shy like her and she is a huge sentimentalist. Kayeon met her when she lived in China. At first Mei-Hua had approached her because her older brother liked Kayeon but then she became her friend and she helped her a lot with her little brother and solving the problems he creates. They still keep in contact by email.

Simon ( Park Jun Ho ) | 26 | Idol in Dalmatian | even though he can seem reservate and cold, he is really friendly with her and he is a really good friend. He likes to joke around a lot, and he always tries to make Kayeon smile, but he only succeeded once. They met when she went to Korea after becoming a trainee, even though there is an they communicate well since they both know Japanese.
