Whoa, Just Blown Out of My Mind!

Alright, so I think I can assume most of you have heard Gangnam Style by Psy. If not, here's the link to the video.

So my reaction to the song?
HOLY. GRANDMOTHER. OF. SIWON.

I honestly have heard a bit about Psy before hearing this song and watching the video. I suppose I was a little busy with other things to look him up, but I had heard at least one song and liked it. Did you guys know he went to school in Massachusetts?
ANYWAY, I knew this video was getting popular, so of course I had to check it out. And OHMZ it was worth it! The video is so comedic and WEIRD, the beat is cool, and I really liked the use of the synthesizer. At just about every part of the video, I was laughing hysterically. I loved it immediatly. But the thing was,
SO DID EVERYONE ELSE.
The video's views freaking skyrocketed! People became obsessed with it, it's got American radio plays, and it made number 1 in the Youtube 100! What made me realize how much EVERYONE were obsessed with it was in gym today.
I was sitting with my friend, and from behind me, I heard a boy talking- "...And the random guy in the elevator. Yeah, the song is so creepy! Eh~~ y lady! That part is so weird." So immediatly I turn around, "Are you talking about Gangnam Style by PSY?"
"Yeah, you know it?"
"OF COURSE I KNOW IT!"
My friend and I were freaking out at how 5 of the guys behind us were talking about K POP. HOLY. GRANDMOTHER. OF. SIWON.
So my friend goes to talk to someone else, and we thought we were finished marveling over "OMG Americans are accepting other countries' pop culture!" My male friend who I had no idea had heard this song, and keep in mind, I've known him for over 4 years, started singing- "Najeneun ttasarowun inganjeogin yeoja! Keopi hanjaneye yeoyureul anheun pumgyeok inneun yeoja!"
OH MY FREAKING ZHOU MI. HE'S SINGING IT?
"Oh my gosh, Donut, you gotta here this. Tyler, do it again!" I yelled.
"What?" She asked.
"Why?" Tyler said.
"JUST DO IT MAN."
And then more freaking out came. This has really surprised me, I mean, who knew something like that could get so popular here? I seriously was NOT expecting this. Honestly, I want to know how this became popular in the first place, really? I seriously love the song, but who even knew? YG definitly didn't when they released the song, Hyuna didn't when they did a collaboration, G-Dragon didn't when he released his song not too long afterward. What happened just overnight? If you go to google search and type "Gan," Gangnam Style is the first suggestion! What do you think is going to happen to the rest of K-Pop? Other popular groups? Girls' Generation did not debut as well as they could've. But I know they're planning to release a full English album in 2013, so how do you think that's going to go after all of this? I mean, PSY definitly had a good fanbase here in America to begin with, and so does Girls' Generation. What if BIGBANG debuted in America with a weird song? Or even, like, a ballad song? I mean, I know it's not really their style, but is it just the fact that Americans are attracted to weird things? I'm not bashing or anything, but always grow up with different types of music that they're exposed to. I mean, I love ballads, I love dance music, but really can't stand anything that's autotuned. A lot of people are often exactly opposite, so examining things like this, what people are interested in, is really interesting!
Guys, give me some feedback here. Let me know what you think is gonna happen!
