personality: With his angelic features, people often see him as innocent and niave, but he isn't. Shinwoo is an energetic outgoing teen. He loves to laugh, smile and hang out with his friends. He also loves playing pranks on his friends and people he knows or is close to. He don't like to think things through before doing something, he'll think about it after he's done it. Because of this, he often gets into trouble.
He is very witty and also has a sharp tongue, so when he speaks he is very blunt. He's not easily angeredbut when he does he's like a completely different person. Shinwoo is a touchy feely type of guy. He loves hugs and pulling people around by the hand. On stage, he becomes serious and charismatic, but when he's off stage he becomes silly and energetic, kind of like Infinite's Sungyeol, just not too much.
Even though he's energetic, there are times when he's calm and charismatic that's not on stage. Those times are when he's playing the piano, his guitar, or cooking. Though he looks the type who can't cook at all, he can actually cook anything that was given to him and turn it into a meal. This is because he grew up kind of like Cinderella, except without a the mean step mother, and horrible step sisters. He was always working and had no time to play like other teens.

background: He was born in Seoul, but was raised in LA since he was 3. His father was a drunkard, his mother was physically weak and timid, his younger brother has a heart condition, so he can't do anything exhausting or draining. Growing up, he was always working to get money for his brother's medicine, and for his father's alcohol. Because his mother was really weak, he took care of all the house work, and meals. He's always working, and has no time to play like other teens.
His father was born in poverty, and used to be very kind, but after the birth of his younger brother, his father started drinking. Whenever he got drunk, he would beat Shinwoo, because he was the only one who could take the beatings. Sometimes when shinwoo made a "mistake" he would beat him then stuff him in their closet, only letting him out the next day. His mother came from a rich family, but when she eloped with his father, her family disowned her. When he was 15, his mother got into a car accident bringing his forgotten lunch, and because was physically weak she died on impact. He had witnessed her accident and blames himself for her accident. After her death, her family came to accept him and his brother, and went to court fighting for their custody.
After he and his brother was put in their grandparents' custody, he was able to spend more time with his friends, and he was able to stop worring about his brother, because his grandparents were able to pay for his surgery. With his free time, he learned to play the guitar and piano. After his brother got well from his surgery, his brother would follow him like a puppy, wanting to do what he does. His father stopped trying to contact them two months after they were put in their gradparents custody.

- Cho Kyuhyun: They met at an arcade, when Shinwoo beat him in a game. Unable t believe he was beaten, he went around to see who had beaten him. When he saw Shinwoo, he challenged Shinwoo to different games to prove he was still game master, but in the end he wasn't able to beat Shinwoo. Before he left he gave Kyhyun his number so that whenever kyuhyun wanted to play against him, he just had to call and set up a date. Afterwards, they would meet up and play games with eachother. Shinwoo would always tease Kyuhyun whenever he wins.

how did you get in?: He modeled for his grandfather's restuarunt poster, and work part time in the restuarunt. So when a scout from illuminate Ent, was being served by Shinwoo, she asked him if he wanted to be a star, since he had the face for it. He told her yes, and became a trainee. At first he was just there to be a model, but he was caught singing and dancing to SME songs such as Super junior's U and Don't don't along with wonger girl's this fool, causing them to throw him in with the singer trainees.

background: Due to his outgoing personality, he got along fine with most of the other trainees. Some don't like him, because they think that he paid his way into becoming a trainee. Sometimes those that don't like him would play pranks and tricks on him, such as taking his spare clothes, spilling water into his bag etc. Even though these pranks were played on him, he doesn't care and ignores his haters, or pay them back with pranks twice as bad as they did him.

how did you meet?: They met when hongki was doing a house warming party, at FT Islands new dorm. Just after Shinwoo entered the door, Yonghwa played a prank on him, "accidentally" slipping and spilling juice all over him, causing Shinwoo to get drenched in juice. Because FT Island's clothes were in the washer, Shinwoo decided to join the party shirtless and acted like the prank didn't bother him. At the end of the party, Shinwoo was still pissed at yonghwa's prank, so he decided to do the same to yonghwa. When the CNBlue members were leaving, Shinwoo "tripped" and pulled yonghwa's sweats down revealing yonghwa's cupid boxers.
