Truthfully, it's always best to finish something before you move on, or at least get further into the plot. That being said, since it's only your second story, I don't think it'll hurt to begin. Make sure you're able to manage your time well, and that you're able to switch between the stories when it comes to updates. It's your choice. But, I do agree with @summerchild, you'll want to make more and more stories, and you won't be able to finish anything. So, it's always good to finish before you move one <3 I'm sure you'll do well though no matter which way you decide to go.

Just carry on with your old story. If you don't then you end up finishing NOTHING. Trust me on this one.

i think you should finish the old one first. so you wouldn't be like me, it's messing(: and, your idea wouldn't gone because you'll just concentrate with one fic(: that's just my idea(:

Yep! Like mysharona626 said, you should just start a whole bunch of them. You can work on all of them at the same time. It'd be better to start them now while the idea is still fresh in your head, or else you'd forget. But make sure to not neglect your original fanfic! Or you'll lose subscribers like I did T^T

Start another one while you're still writing. Many people do :)
