Personality:

Kwon Mi Joo, a girl with talent who doesn't often show her cute side, has a rather cold and sarcastic aura. She's nice to her friends and family, but she's also quite the prankster. To get a good laugh in once in a while, MiMi's heartless mind thinks up ways to stir up trouble. Hiding a can of paint on the top of the door, switching clocks in her house so they're all wrong, watching people argue for her own amusement. Those are just a few of the things MiMi does for fun. Her cold, heartless personality scares most girls away, but attracts many boys due to her mysterious intrigue. Mi Joo is a girl with many secrets, and doesn't share much about herself, except to her best friend, Amber. Not knowing much about the 'ice princess' really does throw off everyone's opinion about her. But the big secret about MiMi that they /don't/ know, is that she's actually a very sensitive person.

The sensitive side of MiMi is hidden when she's around her schoolmates and family, but when she's alone, she often cries and smiles. The only person who has seen this of MiMi is Amber. Amber and MiMi have known each other since they were toddlers and went to daycare together, so they know each other best. Through hard times such as Amber moving to America for a while, MiMi's Grandma passing away, and MiMi's parents divorcing, the two best friends were always there for each other, through thick and thin. Having a shoulder to lean on is nice, when you aren't a very trusting person.

MiMi didn't have a very sad childhood, but more or less a dramatic one. Incidents in her past led up to the kind of person MiMi is today, ice-cold. Trust issues covered up by sarcastic jokes; that's the way Mi Joo lives, hoping that no one can see through her. Although MiMi leads a lonely life, she's never truly alone. She's always surrounded by music. Mi Joo's singing voice isn't the best, but it's good enough to be recognized as pretty. What her real talent is though, is rapping, which almost everyone knows. It makes her kind of a badass in school, which is another reason why most girls don't really like her, andguys fall at her feet. Rapping and dancing are two passions that MiMi is determined to strive for, and sacrifice anything for. Finding a way to cope when she was younger was tough, because she got sick of running to Amber and crying. When Amber came back from America though, she'd taught MiMi something new that she learned over there. Rapping. MiMi hadn't tried it before, but learned that she had a natural talent for it, and instantly fell in love with it. Sometimes she rapped so much that she'd lose her voice or catch a throat cold, and her grandma used to say that if she rapped so much, her tongue would fall out. The funny thing is, MiMi believed her and stayed silent for almost a week, before she found out it wasn't true.

Sneakers, the best kind of shoe in the world, if you dance hip-hop style all the time like MiMi does. Learning a few things from Amber growing up, such as rapping and dancing, had helped MiMi find her dreams and work until dawn just to improve a little bit at something. Hip-hop was the first kind of dance style that Mi Joo had ever learned, but she also took ballet, lyrics, and jazz, contributing to her well-rounded dance talent. Ballet shoes and high heels were also fun to dance in, but MiMi preffered sneakers since she's always free-style dancing.

MiMi's talent never fails to bring a stage to life, no matter what she does. Being mean and shallow off stage, you'd think MiMi could never have the courage to do anything on stage. But in all honesty, MiMi loves the stage, because that's the only place, besides her bedroom, where she can let her true self shine through. Although she's being judged by everyone watching her, if she does her best, she knows she won, no matter what the result is. Her first talent show in 8th grade came as quite a shock to most of the students and teachers of the school, but they were even more shocked when they saw her performance. Smooth, but sharp dance moves rocked the stage, and a booming voice erupted through the auditorium. From that first talent show on, MiMi knew that the big stage is where she wanted to be. Cheeriness and aegyo had never been MiMi's thing, but confidence came as a second nature. If you told her to dance in the middle of the restauruant, she'd get up and dance right then and there.

Mi Joo used to be a very happy, upbeat, and somewhat peppy person as a child, but once her Grandma, whom she treasured more than anything, passed away, MiMi built an ice chamber around her heart so as to not get hurt by anything anymore. Barely able to stand the pain from her Grandma's death, Mi Joo didn't think she could feel so heartbroken again. The only person who Mi Joo was as close as she was to her Grandma, was Amber. Amber still saw the bright, happy girl in Mi Joo, as she was being brought out more and more with each dance competition, and rapping at a talent show. Although MiMi acted cold and snarkish towards most people, the friendly side of her showed towards her friends, fans, and family.

Background:

Being born in Hong Kong, but moving to Korea at the age of 3, Kwon Mi Joo was forced to learn both Mandarin and Korean. With a bright mind like hers, she had no problem absorbing the information quickly, taking on English and Japanese later on too. Reading and doing schoolwork had always been appealing to Mi Joo, even if most of the other kids complained. Mi Joo isn't a braniac though, but smart and somewhat sophisticated. Her passion for school couldn't even compare to her passion for music. Growing up in an average family, with not a lot of extra pocket money, MiMi waited for birthdays and other holidays to come to get a pair of new sneakers, or a new cd by her favorite artist.

At the age of 10, MiMi's Grandma's passed away, and not long after, her parents got divorced. It was decided that her brother would go with their father, while Mi Joo would stay with her mother. Never having a true picture-perfect family, Mi Joo has the dream of having her own happy little family one day. Amber, who's 1 year older than MiMi, came back from America as soon as she heard the news about MiMi's Grandma passing away. Re-united with her best friend, Mi Joo was able to cheer up a bit, but take on a sarcastic trait as she continued to work her way to reaching her dreams.

When Mi Joo was younger, Amber was trying to teach her how to ride a bike. Finally getting the hang of it, the two girls went for a bike ride down their street, completely forgetting about the hill at the end of it. Reaching the hill, it was too late to stop as they raced downwards, Amber having no problem at all due to her biking skills. MiMi, on the other hand, flipped her bike over trying to stop it and hit a rock on the side of the road where it cut her back open. That was the only time MiMi had ever had to have surgery, and she swore she'd never ride a bike again.

Since MiMi grew up in a broken family, she didn't get to see her brother much, and his last name stayed as Lee Jin-ki, while Mi Joo's changed from Lee Mi Joo to Kwon Mi Joo. Depending on only herself and her trusted friend Amber, MiMi grew up knowing that things would always get better. Supporting each other, the two best friends did everything together, from watching movies and having sleepovers, to taking out the garbage and cleaning. Since her mom was always at work, MiMi grew up raising herself from the divorce on, but with Amber by her side to help her make wise decisions.

MiMi didn't think it was right to make fun of her, so she went over and knocked the girl's barbie house over. Meeting MiMi in gradeschool, she asked her to help her with her math homework, and something about Sulli was just adorable and kind that MiMi grew an instant liking to her. They became friends, and still hang out and catch up every once in a while.
Mi Soo Yun | 19 | Studying To Be A Barista | Mi Soo Yun is a rather fascinating character, being bright with dull moments and cheerful but sometimes shy. Although SooYun likes to do well in school and make new friends, her weakness is starting up a conversation. On the first day of 4th grade, MiMi walked into class, not having any friends in the class since Amber went to America. Sitting in her desk was a short, bulky girl who looked new to the school. Deciding not to make the first day hectic for the other girl, MiMi claimed the desk next to hers. SooYun, curious as to why MiMi wasn't up and talking with anyone tapped her shoulder and asked her shyly if she was new too. MiMi laughed and said no, she just didn't have many friends. The conversation carried on and they soon became friends, finding that personalities were surprisingly similar.

Love interest: Sungyeol | 20 | Actor/Idol of Infinite in Woollim Entertainment | Lee Sungyeol is a nice, but rushed guy. He's constantly in a hurry to get things done so that he can have more free time. Being an idol, he doesn't get much free time as it is, and he likes having fun with his friend on a night out sometimes. Sungyeol isn't very social, and his secretive nature gives off the mysterious vibe. He's not a gentleman, and he doesn't like lovey dovey stuff. But he is a passionate and caring guy who won't let go of something that he really wants. Teasing is another thing that makes Sungyeol unique, he teases someone beyond Infinity (see what I did there? *wink wink*) and then plays it off as if nothing happened, acting as the 'cool' guy again.

How do you act around one another: Sungyeol and MiMi act cool and laidback around each other. They don't have normal conversations, but instead, MiMi likes to pull pranks on Sungyeol, but Sungyeol isn't that gullible. Rolling his eyes, he just smirks and teases her, finding her actions cute. MiMi doesn't see the social side of Sungyeol often, but when she does, she feels...warm and fuzzy(LOL just kidding)....different. His smile is what gets her the most, drawing her in without her even knowing it. Teasing and laughing, these two can really be themselves around each other, so care-free and relaxed. But soon, after they start to secretly crush on each other, tension rises in the air, and conversations between the two start to become awkward.

Back-up love interest: Myungsoo | 20 | Actor/Idol in Infinite in Woollim Entertainment | Myungsoo, also known by his fans as L, could almost pass as the male version of MiMi, although his personality is a tinge different, and his looks throw the theory way off. He's cold and sophisticated, mature and leader-like. Although he's a younger member in Infinite, he has the traits of a leader, and doesn't like to mess around. Making no time for serious relationships, he finds himself acting even more cruel when he starts to like a certain idol-newbie.

How do you act around one another: Myungsoo and MiMi act completely mad around each other, with tension thick in the air. Their personalities, being so similar the way they are, conflict with each other instead of bringing them together. Getting sick of all the awkwardness, MiMi always tries to strike up a conversation with the ice-cold L, but fails everytime due to his lack of effort. He doesn't respond to her, and instead just glares at her. When he does talk to her, he insults her and is cruel to her. But if a guy's mean to you, it means he like you, right? In this case, yes. Myungsoo had fallen for MiMi's rapping/dancing skills and decided to push the feelings away, only to make them stronger. MiMi has no idea, and thinks Myungsoo hates her. They act cold and distant around each other.

〖The past is the past〗

Trainee years: 3 years

How did you become a trainee: MiMi had been rapping and dancing on many different stages for almost two years when Amber made it into SME. Knowing that there was another record label having trainee auditions just around the corner, MiMi prepared night and day, barely sleeping and eating. Once Woollim Entertainment's audition day came through her town, she was more than ready to win over the judge's hearts with her talents. After the audition, she waited 3 days and 4 nights before she finally got a call saying she's been rejected. Determined to get into Woollim Entertainment, a few weeks later, she went to the audition in Seoul, and brought even more talent to the stage. Finally after a couple more days of waiting, she got a call saying she'd been accepted. Ecstatic for her acceptance, she called Amber over and they had a mini-celebration party.

Life as a trainee: MiMi worked hard as a trainee from the very first day, hoping to become the best when she debuted with a group. Living as a trainee took up all of her time, leaving only 6 hours for sleeping and eating every night. But MiMi didn't complain once, she thought that life as a trainee was fun and exciting, being able to do what she loved everyday.
