Background :
Kyeong Ja was born in Miami, Florida because her father's work was based there. She lived there for 8 years before she moved to Jeju-do to live with her grandparents. Until now, her parents still live in Miami but Kyeong Ja visits them from time to time or the same way around.
She has dated many guys but stopped when she started to debut. She had her first boyfriend during 11th grade in HS.
She has an older brother serving in the military right now.
She was bullied for having a very tacky name and was very fat but she started to stand up for herself when she started high school since she didn’t want the bullying to worsen. She also has gone through a very extensive diet. This is the reason why she grew up to be what she is now.
She moved to Seoul and lived at her aunt's house when she started to attend High School since her parents thinks that education in the city is better. She actually came from Jeju-do Island and grew up with a very sharp pronunciation that was very uncommon in Seoul this was also one of the reasons why she was always bullied in school.
She was often called a ‘country bumpkin’ by her classmates and would often get laughed at when reciting in class but she brushed it off and ignored them. Soon her Jeju accent wears off and she got used using a Seoul accent although she still converses with her parents in a Jeju accent.
She loves her mom very much and she is the woman she respects the most. She always follows her mom’s orders. She does not disagree with her mom but with one thing. It was when Kyeong Ja wanted to be an idol and her mom disagreed because her mom wanted her to be a doctor or a lawyer so she can go work at Miami with them but Kyeong Ja held on to her dreams and continued to train even though her mom was against it. However, later on, her mom agreed to it and supported her 100 & 1 percent.

She both auditioned for YGent/SMent and got accepted to both but chose to stay with SMent. She trained for a while but stopped due to her parent's request. She was scouted once again by an employee of SMent in one of her small time jobs as a singer at a club. She then continued her training again.
