SIMPLE

Imagine this: Kwon Jiyong in a plain, white shirt, cut-off shorts and no-name sneakers. A worn-out couch in the background, a cup of coffee or a can of beer on a small table with paper strewn all over with afternoon light streaming from the window behind him.

No make-up, no wild haircolor, no crazy hairstyle.

Plain and simple Kwon Jiyong...rapping without autotune and perhaps singing in an odd, sort of out of tune way.

You can throw fangirl pitchforks at me now but I really want to see Jiyong stripped off of all the designer clothes and crazy make-up.

Flashy sets no longer impress me. I know he's one of the richest kids around. I know international designers make love calls to him perhaps everyday. I know magazines get sold out when he's on it.

I know all that, what I no longer know is the real him.

I know he can pull off anything so why not the real Kwon Jiyong?

p.s. someone kindly try to convince the YGpeeps it's okay to go plain and simple for Ji's other mvs...

"G-Dragon Unplugged." That'd be a nice change of pace. I enjoy bright colors and flashing lights as much as anyone but, yeah, my favorite performances tend to be the ones where it's just the artist and a microphone (and some instruments).

I agree with you regarding G-Dragon's latest MV. . it kinda moved a little too close to the edge of his edgy trademark wherein it almost jumped out of it. .

I just feel like he went overboard but I also feel that his intention with this music is to get back to his hip hop roots just like before. .

I don't know why my heart got worried for him since it felt like he's again struggling to find himself. . finding a balance between what he wants to be as a musician, what he want to express and what the industry and the public expects him to. .

But with all these, I wish him the best and will still be supporting him in my little way. . :p

I completely agree. Sometimes I forget why I first liked an idol, then I go back and re-watch their old stuff and remember.

I can absolutely see what you mean and I agree with you it feels like the real Kwon Jiyong is getting harder and harder to see behind all the fancy stuff. I wonder if the pressures of fame and money are changing him or if it's how he thinks people want to see him or if it's just an image he has decided to portray rather than baring himself and risking more...unfortunately, for whatever reason, this kind of thing seems to happen to a lot of talented young music makers :(

I AGREE. I miss simple Jiyong. Personally, I think the way the MV was presented was a bit too much. It's so..... FLASHY? Yes, I think that's the word.

I really miss Love Song MV.. It's so clean cut. LOL
I guess his style is becoming more of the hippie one? I'm not saying it's bad but sometimes, it's too much. =_=

I watched his new mv last Saturday and while I found it very 'Gdragon', it left me musically 'in want' (?) I love Gdragon and I could never deny that he is a remarkable musician, the prob however is that he seems to be living up more to the fans' expectation of him as a 'bad boy' rather than creating a clearer picture of who he really is.

Personally, the last time he WOW-ed me with his music was Tonight and Cafe...the recent ones are all-kills but they seem to be more heavy with attitude but not unique message/perspective.

It honestly feels like Eminem.

I know it's too early to tell but I hope his new album will prove me wrong.
