Pokémon Master

name: Yoon Daeho

nickname(s):

  • Daegi: A combination of Dae and the word for baby, this is what he was called at school by the bullies that made his life hell. Call him this, even jokingly, and it will still hurt him just as much as it did when he was younger.

  • Dae Dae: The nickname that his fellow trainees bestowed upon him when he first entered training. Everyone thought he must be younger than he was so they gave him a cute nickname to match his looks.

age&birthday: 17 Years Old/March 8th

ethnicity: Korean

  • Korean (Fluent)

  • English (Conversational)

  • Japanese (Limited)

birthplace: Busan

hometown: Seoul

  • Post 'Evolution' (Daeho has begun to change into a stronger and more comfortable man. He no longer struggles and has come to trust those around him. Because of this, he is able to start to take on a more mature look.)

back up ulzzang: Song ChanHo

links:

height: 166cm

weight: 47 kg

appearance: Daeho often looks younger than his real age. He has reddish hair and warm brown eyes. When he was younger he thought that maybe if he looked different he wouldn't be picked on so much so he went and got blue contact lenses. He still likes to wear them, simply because he likes the look they create. He has no tattoos or piercings, a lot of the 'mean' kids had them and he never wanted to remotely look like them. He does have a scar on the underside of his chin from where he was shoved down a flight of stairs on the last day he ever went to school. There's another one on the side of his tongue because he bit himself when he landed at the bottom but no one can see that.

style description: Daeho definitely likes to be presentable. Even when traveling, he makes sure to wear something that is put together. Rarely will you see him out in public in sweatpants, the only exception being if he isn't feeling well. At home however, he loves to be comfortable. Nice jeans and a cozy hoodie is his favorite way to hang around the dorm or backstage until it is time to put on his stage clothes. His taste in fashion isn't overly flashy, but rather simple and clean cut. The only crazy outfits he ever dons are those the coordi noonas decide on. When dressing himself he tries to look nice, but not over the top. Calling attention to himself isn't something he likes to do so he airs on the conservative end of dress.

Inner Beauty

personality:

Having been bullied for most of his school years, Daeho grew up without really knowing how to interact with many children his age. He is really intelligent about all sorts of things, sort of  like a walking encyclopedia. Unfortunately he tends to spit out random facts about things completely unrelated to any conversation. These little outbursts are his way of trying to fit in and really, he only knows two extremes- being too quiet or too talkative. Someties too many questions and comments cause those around him to become annoyed. Daeho is quite sensitive to this and becomes withdrawn of he feels he is not fitting in, wantering away to be by himself for a while. He figures that if he leaves, he no longer will be a bother. A lot of people try to make him feel better  him when falls into a quiet spell like this. It's not their fault really, it's just a natural reaction to seeing someone that looks upset but he doesn't know how to respond to the attention. Althought he'll never show it, he really enjoyes the attention but doesn't know how to say that or return any of the affection. Unless, of course, you get close to him.

The dorm (and his room in particular) are “safe” places for Daeho so he’s more at ease there. It’s easier for him to express affection with actions rather than with words and to the same effect he reads people more on how they treat him than what they say to him. If someone angry with him loses their temper and yells or makes any threatening moves he’ll curl up or hide and only someone he trusts can get him to come out. It will take him a very long time to go near someone who is violent, even if they are playing around. Part of the reason he is polite and does what he is asked all the time is because he wants to please those around him. He wants to feel like he's doing a good job and that he fits in.

Patience is the key to understanding DaeHo. Give him time to get to know you and once he is comfortable with you, you will have made a friend for life. Those he allows to become close to him will always have his support. He's always looking to build other people up despite the things he has been through so if you show him kindness he is sure to return the favor. On stage, Dae Ho has much more confidence. Music empowers him and chasing his dream to be an idol is what drives him to move forward. One of the reasons he is not afraid to live with strangers is because he knows they all share a love of music. Singing and dancing are what saved Daeho when he was younger, what allowed him to get up and keep going despite the abuse of his peers.

personality sum up:

Daeho takes time to settle in to new places. He sometimes isn't sure how to act in a large group of people. Those he gets close to however, he is extremely loyal too. Show him compassion and you'll get that and more back in return.

likes:

  • Strawberry Candy: DaeHo's mother used to bring these home to try and cheer her son up. He took a liking to them and now, keeps a handful in his pocket for the days he's feeling out of place or misses home.

  • The Zoo: He's not really sure why he likes this place so much. Maybe it is because he's better at talking to himself or the animals than he is to people. He also knows so many random things about animals, it fascinates him to learn more.

  • Napping: Finding a nice, warm place to curl up and nap is one of Daeho's favorite things. He can pretty much sleep anywhere and if you let him get comfortable, forget getting him up easily.

  • Hoodies: Because he's always cold, he loves sleeping in sweatshirts. They make the perfect napping outfit because he can put up the hood, stick his headphones in, and sit in the corner un-noticed while he sleeps.

  • Reading: He can get lost for hours in a good book or maga. If you can't find him and he's not sleeping, he's off reading somewhere quiet. He often reads fan accounts and posts off his laptop because he likes to know what people think of pokemon.

  • Practice: Daeho actually enjoys going to rehearsal. He gets out his frustrations and can freely express himself in the practice room. If he's really upset and just having alone time isn't enough, he'll escape to the practice room to dance until he feels better.

dislikes:

  • Loud Noises: Daeho really does not appreciate being startled. Not that he'd ever complain about it, but it's pretty obvious that he's not a fan.

  • Being Late: He figures that you should be early to important events. Growing up he was always taught to leave time for things to go wrong. It drives him crazy to be running late because of other people. One of the only times he will voice his annoyance is if he is going to be showing up late to an event.

  • Bees: He's allergic to bees so if one comes in the room he'll freak out and hide behind people. The last time he was stung he had hives all over his arm and he certainly doesn't want to have to go to the hospital again.

  • Static/Messy Hair: He'll keep his hand and trying to smooth his hair if it's messy. If someone ruffles his hair he'll do the same. It's been a pet peeve of his since he was young.

  • Spicy food: He really can't tolerate spicy food. His eyes will turn as red as his hair if he tries, his nose and eyes will water, and he'll make funny faces. It doesn't matter how many times he tries to build a tolerance, he knows he'll just keep hating it.

  • Large crowds: It seems strange for an idol not to like a crowd but Daeho doesn't. When he'd on stage, it doesn't bother him to be in front of so many people, but when the group is being swarmed it makes him uncomfortable. This is when the clingy Daeho appears. He needs to have a hand on someone he's with at all times, whether it be on their arm, backpack, shoulder, etc. He just needs to feel like he's not going to get lost or left behind.

  • Banana Milk: The bullies used to pour their milk over his head at lunch. He won't even touch the stuff now.

habits:

  • Sometimes, Daeho wants something or would like to join in on a game but doesn't know how to ask. He'll stand around, just staring wisfully at whatever it is until someone notices. For example, if a few members are in the kitchen eating ice cream he's likely to just watch and keep looking hopefully at the treat. The other members would have to notice and offer him some if he were to get any because he won't just ask. He doesn't want to invite himself into something he might not be wanted in.

  • Being a curious kid and avid reader, Daeho often pokes around online to see what fans are saying about Pokemon. Before bed, he likes to go on fansites and see what is being posted. He even falls into the trap of reading Pokemon fanfiction which... well, you know how fanfiction goes.

  • Even being really tired, Daeho will linger around until he crashes somewhere in the dorm or is told repeatedly to go to bed. Rarely does he lie down on his own bed to sleep. If he falls into a deep sleep, it is possible to pick him up and move him without him even knowing.

  • Just like he blurts out random facts, Daeho will come out with random English as well. Sometimes he'll repeat words in English under his breath. Most of the time he's just translating the few words he knows.

hobbies:

  • Photography: It's far easier for Daeho to express himself with photographs than words so naturally he loves to bring his camera places. He'll hang around in the background, snapping away at anything and everything that he sees.

  • Sketching: In addition to photography, Daeho finds himself doodling from time to time. He might not be the best at it but he likes to try. He's decent considering he likes artsy things.

  • Shopping: Because he likes to look presentable, Daeho tried to keep on top of the latest trends. He'll go and just window shop for hours but if there's something he really likes he'll buy it.

trivia:

  • Daeho speaks very slowly and deliberately in interviews. If goes too fast because he is nervous or excited, he might begin to stutter and that only embarasses him and makes things worse. And he absolutely hates if anyone mentions it.

  • He has a red mini daschund named Tteokbokki because of the size, shape, and color of the dog. He calls him "Tteuk" for short. (Spicy rice cake!)

  • If Daeho isn't feeling well, he'll cling to the nearest person and suddenly become cuddly. It's one of the times people will be shocked because he usually isn't like that.

EvolutioFamily

background: Daeho was raised in a pretty normal household. He did not have any brothers or sisters but both of his parents made sure to have a close relationship with their son. From a young age, Daeho struggled with a speech problem. He had a stutter that often made him the target of much teasing at school. At first, the bullying was average but then, as time went on, it became worse and worse. Daeho became a completely different person, avoiding anyone his age or older and coming home from school to lock himself in his room. Naturally, because of the harsh treatment, his stutter only became worse. It was then that the older kids started to escalate their abuse.

When Daeho came home with his chin split open and bleeding, his parents pulled him from school. It was then that they realized that he wasn't even speaking anymore. Alarmed, they found him a private therapist who worked with him every day. She eventually came to find that music therapy was of a huge benifit to him. He could work a lot of his frustrations out through dancing and when he sang his speech problems seemed to temporarily disappear. When he was thirteen he was struggling with confidence so she encouraged him to audition to build his confidence and to her excitement, he got in!

family life: DaeHo's family is pretty average. Both his parents worked jobs that kept them extremely busy but as soon as they realized what was going on with their son, they made sure that they had more time in their schedule to be around him. They have always tried to do what is best for him and love seeing him enjoying himself and chasing his dreams.

parents:

  • Yoon Janghoon || 45 || Teacher || Calm, rational, levelheaded. Very practical and knows what he can do to to ensure success for his son. || Close, but not terribly close. Daeho appreciates his father and respects him but they aren't like best friends. || Alive

  • Yoon KyungEun || 43 || Nurse || Quieter, sensitive, and more like Daeho. She is very sympathetic and outwardly caring, often sending him messages and things in the mail. || Daeho is quite comfortable speaking with his mother. She understands him in a way nobody else has been able to. He'll actually call to talk with her when he has free time. || Alive

siblings: None. Daeho is an only child.

friends:

  • Daeho hasn't kept many friends until now. After the trainees at the last company he trained with turned against him, he is starting new here with Pokemon.

Happiness

love interest: Pichu

age: N/A

personality: N/A

relationship:

  • A year into his training there was another trainee named Younghae that was a few years older than him that he was able to grow close to. He treated Daeho like a little brother and always protected him and helped him learn the words to songs he struggled with. Somewhere along the line, Daeho started to think maybe he has feelings for him but he wasn’t sure if it was just admiration or love. One night when they were practicing, Daeho worked up the courage to tell him his feelings. The older boy surprised him by leaning over and giving him a kiss. Daeho was really happy because he was afraid he was a freak for liking another boy. The next day however, Younghae acted totally different and completely ignored him. A few days later the news of the kiss had been spread all over the trainee dorm except that everyone believed Daeho had forcefully kissed Younghae against his will. Turns out, Younghae's friends had convincd him to mess around with Daeho and the whole thing was one big horrible joke.

The kiss had been DaeHo’s first and because he was so humiliated from the incident he’s guarded his heart and his lips since then.

(A/N: Younghae wasn't gay and neither is Daeho although if you wanted he could be. Mostly he had never had such a close friend before and he got confused with the feelings, thinking that he liked him.)

love triange?: Up to you. Daeho's so shy about feelings he might not say something and the person he likes might be pursuing someone else.

TwCaPlaThaGame

rival: Lee Jooyeol and Kim Changhee || 19 || OC

reason: These two boys were the ones who put Younghae up to playing around with Daeho's feelings. Basically, he wants to simply be good at what he does and be better than them because he has worked hard. He doesn't play games, he just tries to work on his own skills.

I ChoosYou!

years of training: Three.

past training: Daeho trained for a year under a different company.

reason: After the situation with Younghae, Daeho was completely humiliated. Other trainees started teasing him about the kiss and things started to spiral out of control. He felt trapped and like he was back at school again. He was convinced that becoing an idol was just not something that he could ever hope to do but his music therapist convinced him to audition for a smaller, newer company in the hopes that things would be easier for him there.

how'd you get in?: The first time Daeho auditioned he was nervous and stumbled through his lines. Because it was apparent that he had good dance skills and stage presence, the judges gave him another chance to sing. This time around, he was able to complete the audition without a problem.

trainee life & experience: [a paragraph for each]

  • Life: Daeho was amazed that he got in after auditioning. He made a clear point of working extremely hard as a trainee. Because of this, most of the authority figures in the company liked him and put him into the better training groups. He lived comfortably, not really needing much other than to be able to have a chance to learn more about dancing, singing, and music. He liked the hard work, seeing it as a challenge he was able to overcome and the thought of one day being on stage excited him.

  • Experience: DaeHo struggled his first few years as a trainee. Having never had lived with anyone other than his parents, life in the dorms was a bit overwhelming. Some of the other trainees resented his constant politeness and the way the company leaders liked his work ethic. Some would take advantage of his nature and leave him with most of the chores in the dorm. Others tried to become friends with him and although some succeeded, the incident with Younghae ruined his trust in the people around him.

stage name: None at the Moment

stage persona: Secret Charisma (Because he is quiet, polite, loyal in real life but fiery onstage like charmander).

motto: Music can change the world because it changes people.

intro: Annyeonghaseo, this is Pokemon's quiet  triple threat Daeho. (Holds up fingers one, two, then three)

individual fanclub name: SarangDae (Love plus his name!)

individual fanclub color:  Firebrick 1 (#F62817)

The Time HaCome

scene requests:

  • The appearance of Daeho's stutter  and how people react to it would be a major event for him. He'd be petrified the minute it happened and probably stop talking mid sentence.

  • I can see Daeho always watching the member he likes but being too shy to say anything. One of the boys might notice and try to give him love advice?

  • The first argument in the dorm. He'll be flustered.

  • The first moment when he trusts someone. (The leader?)

  • Daeho catches a cold or is sick... the only time he is cuddly. Or maybe he helps a sick member.

suggestions/comments: [alright, I really need you here. any ideas for debut song? or just songs for debut album? also, maybe Pokémon's introduction?

  • Pokemon 1st Album... Catching Fame?

  • Introduction... Hello, we are Pokemon! (Pretends to throw a pokeball, then wiggles extended fingers)

anything else?:

  • As for the "evolution" of Dae Ho, I was thinking he might settle in to the group and realize that he will not be bullied there. Once he trusts the members and feels at home he'll really begin to open up. I can see him talking more and being more rambuncious off stage. He'd begin to have more of a fun personality and not always be so quiet. He could even go through a phase where he becomes stubborn and a bit spoiled but eventually even out. (Much like charmander in the TV show XD)

final decision?: Sounds good to me!
Thanks for reading!
