Background: Ji Hye was born in Hong Kong, but moved to Yokohama (Japan) when she was 5 because of her father's work. Her father is a hotel manager, and her mother teaches at a kindergarten. They both still live in Japan. Her brother, Ji Hyuk, who also goes by the name of Kai lives in Korea, actually near Ji Hye's dorm. Ji Hye's father is Korean and Japanese, while her mother is Japanese and Chinese. Ji Hye moved to Korea with her brother when she was scouted at a korean music festival in Tokyo. Her brother moved with her because he did not want her to be alone. Ji Hye and her brother are extremely close, and he can be slightly overprotective of her. She has been a trainee for two years.
