Who are you?

Name: Hwang Soorin

 

Species: Ghost

 

Personality: She is basically a kind girl, but shy, quiet and reserved. She previously suffered from depression (explained later), so she tends to be sad and lonely even as a ghost. She lacks confidence. On the other hand, she is responsible, honest and people can rely on her. She's quite weak and not confident, but when she sees something unfair happening, she sometimes musters her courage and tries to speak up or do something about it. Only when she thinks she can help though, sometimes she's too scared to do anything. She's sometimes gullible and easily bullied. Other than that, she is sensible and wise. She doesn't like meeting new people, because she's shy.

 

Background: She comes from an ordinary family, has a brother, but it seemed that her family didn't care that much about her. She has always been a kid that didn't really talk to anyone or fool around. Later she started having psychical problems and suffered from depression. Although she seemed to have everything (money, good grades etc.), her life seemed empty. She committed suicide because of it, thinking this would be the very end.

She doesn't remember her death nor what exactly caused it, she only knows she committed suicide. But it went like this: she had depression mainly because she thought she was good for nothing. Not pretty, not good at anything, not clever (from her point of view). She also had no friends and had to deal with all these feelings alone. She kept on somehow living, but then a certain mean girl, who sometimes used to bully her a bit, one day started shouting at her, together with her (the mean girl's) friends, asking her why she even exists and she made her confidence go down so much, that the poor girl, already having problems, couldn't take it and ran away, to a forest where she had a mental breakdown and jumped from a cliff. It was so traumatic, that when she has awoken as a ghost, she didn't remember anything from that day and had only faint memories of her depression. She is not that depressed anymore as a ghost, but sometimes is still sad and feels empty.

How did you guys meet?: Soorin was rushing to her classroom and accidentally bumped into Eli, forgetting to pass through him. He got really mad and shouted at her, he turned really scary and lost control, which frightened her and made her cry. She ran away, but then Eli realized what he had done. He didn't mean to scare a poor girl, it must have been his demonic blood making him lose control. He felt bad about it, so when he saw her again, he wanted to approach her and somehow make it up, but she avoided him. From there on, he keeps an eye on her when he sees her and wants to protect her. Could he be the one who'll make her feel “alive“?

Himchan: he's kind of protective of her, sees her kind of as a sister

Kevin: he's nice and friendly to her and he's always trying to cheer her up and make her more sociable

Trivia:

• When it comes to being ghost, what she appreciates about it is being able to turn invisible and hide or run away from people this way and that no one can touch her when she doesn't want to.

• She respects others and has a personal rule not to spy on people by misusing her ability to turn invisible.

• She tends to just watch others instead of 'living“ her own “life“, even before death she mainly spent her free time watching dramas and movies. Maybe this is why she cannot move on and go to heaven, since she hasn't really lived yet...

• When she's sad or scared, she hides somewhere. Goes to a remote place or hides in some small place, such as under the table or in a closet, where she feels safe.
