Make it personal

To make writing sensational, the author said, "Make it personal." We should not just write what is expected of us like most do nowadays. We should tell our stories - our experiences or that of people we know - not present or state details.

Each of us has stories to tell - stories that can move people's hearts and inspire people; stories that would not be forgotten; stories that are alive.

How do we do that in fanfiction?

I don't know if I am even doing it correctly. But instead of imagining scenarios, write what you know, what you or a friend experienced. My characters are inspired by real people and some scenes are based on real life. (Hence, I only should be writing friendship fics like CRN3).

I hope my explanation is clear enough ^^

Not that I would tell the ppl concerned, but most of my characters in my stories are based on real ppl xD and I just hope they never find out that I write about them xD

I think it's more of like how the story will have more impact on a person if it was told based on one's personal experience because the writer himself/herself had went through it all. Therefore, they could describe every detail of the feelings involved and hence, making the readers feel and understand this story accurately. When that happens, the story becomes something to remember.
