Describe her personality: Jiseo is fun loving and optimistic although she has her moments of temper though but it is hard to move her to anger. It is hard to make her cry and easy to make her laugh because she just doesn't see the point in wasting her time crying over something she can't change. She is a bit oblivious when it comes to common sense which is often mistaken for aegyo. She is very passionate about her work and works hard until she is made by someone to stop. She dislikes being babied although she allows it when she knows it is necessary. She is stubborn when it comes to things that she firmly believes in and it is almost impossible to change her mind which is why she perseveres in what she does. She is also a bit of a clutz and falls often. She likes to look on the bright side and not think about anything bad happening which gets her into trouble sometimes. She hates acting cute and is independent when it comes to the things that she wants. Jiseo likes to mother people although she has to get close to them first but when someone is in need she is the first one who offers to help.
Family background and history: Lived in China until she was three with her mother, father, and older brother. They moved to Seoul when her father got a job offer there. She hardly saw her father but her mother and brother were there so she was happy. She learned Korean along with Mandarin growing up and speaks both fluently. Her mother went to work in a bridal bakery when she entered middle school and her brother took even closer care of her. They are very close due to that. Jiseo missed her family in China from their past visits and when she was nearing the end of high school went to visit them and lived there for a year. That is also when she auditioned for SM. When she got in she moved back home. Her mother and brother were supportive but her father didn't approve and told her that she was to marry the son of a company he wanted to do business with. She rebelled and went to live with her best friend Lay. She kept in close contact with her Mother and brother but avoided her father. About a year later she talked to him again but he was livid about her deception so she doesn't talk to him anymore. She visits her mom and brother once or twice a week but is working hard training.

How long did you train for? 4 years
How was training? While she was a trainee, Jiseo was often bullied because she had gotten accepted from an audition when she was on vacation. The other trainees called her a coward for not auditioning in Korea and accused her of cheating her way into SM. They also felt threatened by her because she is a really hard worker and so she is always practicing, even when her fellow trainees were resting. She was friends with Lay and Tao (when he joined) but hardly anyone else. She worked hard regardless and became very good at everything, making her a threat to other trainees.
How you were selected? She went to a SM global audition in China in 2008 and made it in.
