KPOP is being highly prejudiced in my country. WAE?

Hello people. I just want to rant on this KPOP issue that recently had become quite big in my country. KPOP and all things korean is highly prejudiced lately in my country by some group of people. I don't want to mention any names or any organization here, though.

Now, I do know that some people already had issues with KPOP a long time ago, but that doesn't mean I UNDERSTAND why they're being so prejudice and judgemental towards KPOP. To me, KPOP is just another genre of music, another branch of entertainment, thats all. And yeah, it is totally okay if you don't like KPOP, but do you HAVE to be so hateful towards us who actually likes it? If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Take it or leave it, guise.

There are loads of music out there, and it is understandable if you don't like some of it. You can't possibly like everything. I, for example, don't like Screamo music (no offense to those who loves Screamo). But I don't go around and bash everyone who loves it! For me, if I don't like something, but someone else likes it, it is so not my problem. As long as it doesn't bring any harm, we should just let people have their own way.

So why does this KPOP issue is being brought up to a higher hate level recently? Lemme tell you the scoop.

It all started when there was this big youth festival happening in my country. The organizer organized lots of concert, from the traditional music to KPOP. And long story short, the date of the KPOP concert clashed with a religious sermon event.  The religious sermon event is supposed to be held at the same date with the concert, but in the end, the authorities cancelled the sermon to give way to the concert.

Now, before I write further, I just wanna let you know that I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST THAT RELIGION AND EVERYTHING RELIGIOUS. In fact, I am a believer of that religion.

So, back to my rant. Because of that incident, lots of KPOP fans in my country had been blamed and looked down upon. They look at us like we are some filthy es. While I am NOT backing up the idea of cancelling a religious sermon for a concert, I believe that we, KPOP fans, cannot be wronged.

Seriously, WHAT DID WE DO?

We didn't organize the concert, we weren't the one who cancelled the sermon, we didn't do ANYTHING. If you want to blame someone, GO BLAME THE ORGANIZER. Maybe the organizer should postpone the concert or whatever, but again, thats something out of OUR control. While the fans may love em KPOP star to death, we absolutely don't have any power towards their concert and their activites. Yes, we may REQUEST for them, and we are maybe an INITIATOR to an activity, but that's just all we can do. The full power is on the organizer. If they cancelled it, then there's nothing we can do about it. The most we can do is only sulk, be sad, and hate that company or organizer to death.

I have a feeling that this might have something to do with the upcoming election.. The organizer, which some are VVIP and politic people, were maybe hoping that they can attract young people to support them by having this KPOP concert. But seriously? Most of us KPOP fans are UNDER AGED PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT EVEN QUALIFY TO VOTE. And for those who are OVER AGED, I don't think they will simply NOT VOTE FOR WHOEVER YOU ARE JUST BECAUSE YOU CANCEL A FREAKING KPOP CONCERT. As crazy and obsessed we may sound, we still have brains, and we think, thank you. If you want to be voted, do something good to the country and the citizens, duh. I just cant see how a KPOP concert will help you in the election. =,="

Whatever, whatever. Ranting continues. On that particular week, there are a LOTS of concert being held, so why put the blame on KPOP ONLY???? If you want to blame the music, BLAME IT ALL! Why aren't you hating the traditional music, the orchestra? Why don't you hate the local stars? They have their concert too. It is just merely COINCIDENCE that the KPOP concert happened to have the same date as the sermon.

Once again, let me say that I am NOT backing up the idea of cancelling a sermon for a concert, I am just saying, stop putting the blame on the wrong party.

Please. KPOP is just a music, and a music is just a way of expressing your emotions and feelings. KPOP is just a branch of entertainment, and entertainment is just meant for fun. If you don't like KPOP, its fine, but please stop bashing us who likes it. You have your music, and I have mine. You have posters of 90's and 80's singer on your wall, I have CNBLUE and B1A4. You're head-banging to My Chemical Romance, I'm dancing to Sorry Sorry. You're watching a local new year celebration concert, I'm watching Gayo Daejun. It's the same thing. It's still music. It's still entertainment. It's just slightly different in types and genre.

We are just powerless fans. Okay, okay, we ARE powerful when it comes to supporting the stars. We buy the albums, we buy their concert tickets, we sent them gifts, we make them food, we make them smile, we bash people who make them sad, we make sure they are happy. But that's all. We can't bring down their entertainment company if they mistreat them, we don't go kill their rival groups, and most importantly, WE DON'T DECIDE THEIR ACTIVITES. We suggest, we request, we initiate, yes. But what I'm trying to say here is we don't have any legal or authorized power to actually do anything.

Okay, I'm done ranting. To my facebook friends, if I see you posting about this issue ever again in my newsfeed, I'm gonna block you.
