First of all, before I start typing some words that sputter nonsense, I'll announce that this blog is not about plagiarism, stealing, etc. I just want to share you the words of my very great friend.

PS. Also inspired by Tia's blogs - kill me now if you don't know her coz I'll kill you too. lol >D

So, I've whipped up an angsty Yoosu one shot this morning and asked my friend to review it for me. She said it was wonderful, but my writing style became too irritating and different. Something that I didn't do before. So I told her that, yeah, I copied the writing style of my fave author in LJ and experimented if it'll be successful with my own.

But then, she said.

"Ahh, use your own style(: I like it better hehe :P"

And that's when it dawned on me.

Ever since, I admit, I've been too insecure of my writing and my stories. Would people like them? How many would comment? I hope I don't get bashed - and all those crap.

The reason why I update too slow is because I want everything I post to be perfect. No imperfections, no mistake - just perfection.

So, I quote:

"You're trying too hard to make it perfect. You're making the so stiff and rigid. This isn't you Tia. This isn't how you normally paint. Paint it with passion. Now throw this away, take the paintbrush, and try again."

Writing is a personal venture. When you write, you can be whoever you want to be. There are no limits in writing, and when I write, my thoughts somehow coalesce to form a visual representation of my innermost emotions. Writing is my escape from reality. It's my secret oasis. It's something that is a core part of me.

In the end, writing should be for yourself. Don't write to please others.

I noticed that all my chaptered fics ... yeah, they receive attention and gains lots of subscribers, but does it get lots of comments? Was it able to express what you want to say?

I'm not saying that you shouldn't proofread or change the mistakes in your literature. Hell, those are one of the important things. What I'm saying is - CHILL. When you write, feel it; do it for yourself. Do it because you wanted it in the first place. Do it because you want to express.

Don't do something because you want to please others. Do something because you want to do something for yourself. (But then again, don't overwork it; it might become selfishness lol)
