Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari [L-biased drama review]

Actually, I'm not really the type to write reviews after I finish dramas or something, but this time I just feel like doing it. Or maybe it's just because I need to speak my mind or else it will explode (lately nobody has been listening to my life complaints anyway). So, allow me to do this.

It's gonna be soooo L-biased, so don't mind me. We all love Myungsoo~ ♥

Jiu Keishicho Tokushuhan Sousagakari (japanese drama) [9 episodes]

Description: The show is based on the "Jiu" suspense novel series by Honda Tetsuya. Motoko is a fierce, physically capable investigator with a strong battle instinct, while Misaki is more intellectual, kind-hearted, and naive. The two of them are both working to track down Jiu, the ringleader responsible for a series of brutal crimes. --- Tokyograph.

Basically, I started to watch this drama because L from Infinite was acting in it. And I finished the drama because of the exact same reason.
The drama itself wasn't that interesting, or rather- it wasn't exactly to my liking. I just sat through the whole drama with a poker face and every time L would appear on the screen, I'd get excited. But that's about it.
This drama focuses on two main characters, two girls who try to solve the same case and catch Jiu in their own ways. Since Jiu was played by L and he was something like a main character, I thought I would see him a lot, but it seems that I was mistaken. In the first episodes I barely got a glimpse of his perfect face and... a blonde wig. At first I kind of disliked the color of the wig, but towards the end of the drama, I actually came to like it (maybe I just got used to it).
Never mind the wig color, he got more screen time in the following episodes, but I still felt like it wasn't enough. But what could actually be changed... It's a japanese drama, L's korean and he pretty much doesn't know much japanese, so it was almost impossible to get more lines or screen time without saying anything. So let's just say it was okay (I loved him more in Shut Up Flower Boy Band anyway!). But fighting scenes with L were gorgeous, if that can be said.
The drama was kinda slow throughout the first episodes, so it bore me to no end, but then suddenly it got intense towards the end and I was fidgeting in my seat with anticipation. However... All of my interested was killed in a single shot when Jiu got shot (like three times). Instantly, from my calm 'oh em gee, what's gonna happen~' state I went to 'OH MY GOD L DON'T DIE DON'T LET THEM KILL YOU'- but you know what? Even after being shot thrice (THRICE!!!), he still calmly walked over to the person who shot him and hugged him. -insert 'are you ing kidding me meme here- ...and then he pushed the button and the bomb exploded and everyone (I'm talking about the bad guys) died happily. LOL. I was literally throwing things at the screen of my computer when L just decided to die. I mean, he was the reason I watched the whole drama, and come on, YOU DIE? At least it happened in the very last episode, so I watched the remaining minutes with a stern and uninterested expression on my face. But oh well.
I'm disappointed that L had to die. I'm disappointed that he didn't have enough screen time. I'm disappointed that he doesn't know enough japanese to talk in it freely. And I'm horrified that they decided to play Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" in the background of the drama. I was facepalm-ing all the time I heard it. It was missing in the last episodes, but then the very very very last scene came out and it started playing, and I hit my head on the desk. It just had to ruin everything to the very end.

I usually don't watch Japanese dramas, but when I do, they . Pretty bad. I still remember watching Absolute Boyfriend. I first dropped it after three episodes, but after a half of year I came back to finish it just because I had decided to give it a second chance. Well, my opinion didn't change much. Japanese dramas still when I watch it. Or maybe I just... can't choose the right ones.

This probably was the worst review people have ever seen, but I won't even begin explaining why I wanted to do this. Or should I? I think I have only one reason, when I push away all the ridiculous ones. To put it simply, I just wanted to talk. But since it's around 3am and people are sleeping (c'mon, it's weekend, nolife with me, huuuuuh)... Nobody's there to listen to my infinite rant. Oh well. Bear with it, you guys (who's going to read to the end, anyway).

On the last note, I love Infinite. Let's watch the live stream on Sunday all together. And let's wait for their May comeback NOT patiently.

P.S. To be honest, if you want to watch a drama with L, don't watch Jiu. You'll be disappointed. Better go watch Shut Up Flower Boy Band, because I started that drama because of L, but finished it because it was too damn interesting. THE WHOLE DRAMA, NOT JUST L. I mean, I even fell in love with Byunghee (Lee Minki) and Jihyuk (Bang Sungjoon). They're smexxxxx. And I'm sooo buying the OST album~

Bye-bi~ BD
