A Blunt Sherlock Review, Will Be Blunt.

...oh lord. I'm one of those Shawol's who are open for other's opinion's, but I...Hmmn.
I feel like Sherlock was one of SHINee's best albums. The vocals are their usual really.
Onew is powerful but soft when needed, it still has that unique quality too it.
Jonghyun is breathy and powerful, again it hasnt changed and im happy it didnt. He's always had a VERY distinct voice, its just him.
Taemin has improved, as he has been for a while now. His voice is starting to take on a very even flow and pitch that I find very...likeable. I like it a lot lol
Key. His notes have been changing a lot lately. Back in The First he seemed very blended in. Sherlock is his time to shine with long-held notes that keep getting higher and higher and I am so happy he's been exploring his vocal ranges. He has yet another very distinct voice.
Minho THANK YOU for singing! Lord that boy has a voice. It's just the right balance of deep and soft. A bit nasaly but enjoyable. His rapping is amazing, as always.
All in all, the vocals i am very confident with saying are absolutely SHINee-Style. I love SHINee's vocals, and I don't think this album shows a bad side, or even a reacurring sound. Each and every song SHINee tosses at us Shawol's all have their unique funk thrown in. Sherlock is no different. I feel like if another group had tried to do this album, it just wouldnt work like it does for SHINee.

Recently, though, I have read some disapointing reviews....If it was really that bad then why were they in the Top Ten charts? I don't see many other kpop boy groups that have debuted this year, or even last year, in those Top Ten. Yet they get amazing reviews. I'm sorry, but I really just cant find anything amazing about most of those groups. Some members have a unique voice, but over all they all sound the same to me. I cant even tell the difference between the new songs and the old, this group or that group.
I cant bring myself to give amazing reviews for groups that have a very overused sound, or concept.  I just wish they wouldnt be so stuck on being like everyone else.
SHINee is SHINee. Screw what is 'normal' or 'popular'. If they like it, they do it. No overuse of sounds or vocals, no popular concepts. The whole French Boy concept was uniue as hell, and i LOVE unique, so this was right down my alley. It hasnt been used before. UNIQUE. they werent afraid to go for it! Im glad they werent afraid to do this entire thing. Im so happy they're back and with an amazing album at that. ♥

And now onto the reason why i find the reviews of "the vocals are horrible. They have this quality of unproffesionalism, almost like they werent even trying."
....Oh hell nauh, you did not.
So its unprofessional to use your real voice instead of auto tuning like everyone else does? yeah ok.
Jonghyun's breathy voice is HIS. Onew's soft voice is HIS. And SHINee really is just, SHINee.
Im glad they dont auto tune because then they would blend in with other groups. All of the other groups seem to be keeping the same vibes. I like how SHINee have vocals that you can fully recognize as different. I noticed other groups as of late have voices that blend TOO much with each other. I cant difrenciate who is who! Is that ____? or ____?
Whereas SHINee is like, "THATS JJONG!" and "THATS TAEMIN!" its distinct. Its easy but they all blend and harmonize without losing their sound. It doesnt make it lazy sounding or too easy going.
i give an A+ just for that lol

As far as the whole Sherlock Clue + Note. I personally think it was genius that they mixed them together to form SHerlock. It makes a plot for the entire Album! They mixed the songs, of course they're going to have similarities to the title track. duh. its a given, people.
I personally love them. It's fresh and new, its something to give the entire album a boost; its not just a bunch of sounds. its got a plot too!

Alarm Clock is so different from all of the other songs I've been hearing from everyone. Other genres and languages included. I like the sound and beat, the distrabution of each members voice and the lyrics...just everything about it really.

The Reason, oh my god. im in love with the vocals for this entire piece. The emotion and power behind all of it is just amazing. It's definitely one of my favorite tracks, for way too many reasons.

Stranger. I was waiting for this to be translated into Korean! It sounds so good, it flows well and doesnt sound too different/the same 8D

Honesty is a very laid back song. I like the flow of the entire song, the melody, its almost something you would expect to be played in a Cafe. Like its in the background but at the same time it forces your ears to stay focused on it. I find it memorable, very memorable. (i downloaded it off of iTunes and realized i was missing a song, just from listening to the album on my iPod. i instantly noticed it was Honesty, 'The Cafe Song' as i call it lol)

I love how they can go from Sherlock to Honesty. SHINee is just something else, you guy's. Unique and addictive.
I can't get enough of this album. I havent gotten sick of it yet, like i tend to do with other artists; wether it be English Korean or Japanese. SHINee is just a group i can't bring myself to dislike or get sick of.
I give very blunt opinions about everything, i know. im a blunt person. so dont take offense to what i say about other groups...its just how i feel.
And SHINee happens to be a very highly opinionated/biased group that i love to review O=O'
Reviewing SHINee is like reviewing something a close friend did, i feel extremely proud of these boys for coming this far. I know they can make it so much farther, all they have to do is keep up their SHINee-ness.

I completely agree with what you said because, in my opinion, whenever SHINee has a comeback, they always provide something new, and they stray away from the usual trends from today, making their own style. I really love their voices because you can tell EXACTLY who is singing. I don't know who said that their vocals were horrible because I think that their vocals are amazing. They all have their own unique style of singing and that's what I like about them and how their voices don't mesh in together- as you said, these days you can't really tell who's singing what.

I feel really proud of our SHINee babies, they're amazing and I love how they don't follow the crowd, but create their own style. Then again, they are a contemporary band which creates trends and whatnot.

Like nowadays, the concept for boybands are "y" and "badass" but freakin SHINee is French boys??? Who would have thought of that haha I loooove them to death.

And did you know that "Honesty" was actually written by Jonghyun, which he dedicated it to us, Shawols??? It's so heartwarming. That boy really does know how to swoon our hearts. ;u;

OMFG THANK. YOU.
this is the review i was looking for -_-;; srsly ive seen a load of bad reviews regarding their "reused sound" from Juliette. i think its just unique, like you said, but so was Juliette. it doesnt mean its the SAME sound, jfc. people. ugh.
