Foreword

Her life was never easy. Living in a hut shorter than her body would go, working part-time for a boss who pays her little more than enough for her food and scolds her for every mischief in the restaurant, studying at night as a scholar and never having a proper night’s sleep. Despite all this, she was contented. She was happy that she was able to live, study and earn money for herself. But then, SS501, a highly known Korean boy band, discovers her and refuses to let her continue with the life she had. Would she accept the offer of living with hot idols? What if it turns out that she has no idea of their identities? Would it be a good or bad asset? Moreover, will she fall in love with one of them?

Characters

Lee Ha Neul

• 17 years old

Background:

She was 5 years old when her mother, Park Man Ree, died of cancer, leaving her with her father, Lee Han Kyul. 3 years later, he also died in a plane crash during one of his business trips. It turned out that their family had debts in the bank and her father’s clients. Nothing was left to Ha Neul. Her aunt was frustrated when she learned that she would not receive any of her brother’s wealth.

She took Ha Neul and let her live with them. However, she never really took care of her. She, her husband and their children treated Ha Neul like their maid, shouting at her and beating her almost every minute.

Through all the years of pain, there was never a moment that she complained nor asked for more. She was thankful that despite her loss of parents, somebody has kept her and gave her a place to live in.

“It’s better than nothing.” She would always say before going to sleep, looking at the sky and whispering words of love to her parents.

Personality:

Quiet

            She doesn’t talk a lot unless others start a conversation with her or if she sees someone who needs help. Most of the time, she would just observe in a corner and let things that don’t concern her pass by. To her, there are more important things to do than putting her nose into other people’s business.

Forgiving

            Even if a person did a lot of cruel and unforgivable acts on her, she always knows how to see the better side of him and forgive him. That’s why others often take advantage of her.

Determined

            When there is work to do, she is determined to finish it with good results. Whether it’s washing the dishes or finishing her studies with high marks. To her, every little thing counts. Due to her busy schedule, she never finds time to think about relaxing or pampering herself even just a little bit. There was no time for shopping, watching movies/TV, listening to music, eating popcorn at night or slumber parties with friends.

Shy

            When people offer to give her help (money or others), she always refuses, saying she had more than enough even if she didn’t. She never wanted to bother other people with her personal needs.

Heo Young Saeng

• 23 years old
• Main vocalist (SS501)
• Quiet
• Shy

He takes care of Ha Neul the most. He may not speak a lot, but he checks on her all the time. This was a new Young Saeng, making his band mates suspicious of his feelings for her.
