Foreword

“Annyeong haseyo! Lee Myun Seuk imnida!” That was the first time I laid my eyes on her. She was beautiful. Nothing seemed to dampen her spirits, not even those 10-paged essays to be passed in 2 days. Her eyes sparkled every time she looked at me. She never failed to make us happy despite our tiring schedule.

That was until she caught me cheating on her. She almost died. But she lived, yes, she survived, but she kept on wishing for death to claim her. Her death wishes stabbed my heart. I didn’t want her to die. I wanted to correct the mistakes I made. She wasn’t mad at me, that’s what made it harder for me. She sat in her room all day, saying that she wasn’t good enough for me, that it wasn’t my fault for looking for someone better.

Guilt continuously attacked me, everyday until I slept. Even in my dreams, I could see her pale, emotionless face and the pain struck me deeply.

I wanted to heal her from her suffering. I wanted to have her back.

But how?

I can’t let her fade away from me.
